Planes of Existence

The Four Planes of Existence

As shown in the preceding illustration, reality consists of four planes of existence.

The astral plane of existence is the highest plane of existence. It is a vast void filled with endless amounts Quintessence, the magical material from which spells are made.

The spiritual plane of existence lies between the astral plane and our physical plane of existence. It is the realm of ghosts and other spirits such as poltergeists, dryads (tree spirits), naiads (water spirits), sylphs (air spirits), and sprites (fire spirits).
