The proceeding magical beasts (that is, basilisk through unicorns) are the ones most commonly used in the cores of magic wands. However should you choose to continue your studies in wand lore, you will learn about other beasts used less often when crafting wands. These other beasts include:

Behemoths - Behemoths are truly huge and are probably the largest of the magical beasts to come over into our world from Faerie. They are rarely seen as they live in the deepest depths of the seven seas. Extremely powerful but hard to control, behemoth wands include a tiny sliver of skin or bone, which has the elemental Water and the phase Darkness.
