章 86: Eyeing the Sheep That was Secretly a Wolf

When he heard the commotion outside, Nile became vigilant. Nile sauntered towards the window and opened it partially. He probed outside, and after a while, he located where the commotion was coming. 

In the opposite direction, two houses away from him, Nile could see two men rummaging the houses one by one. As it was already dark, and the two men were in the distance, he could not observe them clearly. 

Nile closed the window and walked towards the door. He remembered the dead body of the trio earlier. If he did not recall about it, and the two men outside discovered the body before him, Nile thought that it would be troublesome.

Nile took a glance at the woman before he averted his gaze and looked towards Maximo. The carabao might look like it was sleeping, but it could not be more than alert. 

Maximo has been pretending to sleep ever since the moment the woman entered inside. Maximo's thought was all about its owner's safety, after all.
