"Thanks," she said, then she cupped his face between her hands. It was kind of annoying that she had to stand on her toes because of her son's sudden growth spurt. Lewis was only twelve years old but he could already pass as a teenager. "Lewis, you're not just my favorite person in this world– you're also the most precious to me.
