Sir Kingsley watched Blair as she weakly stood up and tried to put her shoes on without struggle while the bandages around her injuries and her horrible bruises constricted her every move. After failing so many times, she successfully wore them and tried to walk but her knees buckled and she ended up falling on the floor. Sir Kingsley waited for a few seconds while Blair curled up on the floor, facing her back towards him, and shed tears continuously. Her small hands tightly closed up into an angry fist and that's when he bent down to help her but she swatted his hands away and shouted at him to stay away from her.
Sir Kingsley wasn't fazed by her scream that echoed around the infirmary especially because no one was there other than the nurse who sat in her chair, quietly and impatiently. She jumped at the sound of Blair's angry voice but she remained quiet and unmoving, waiting for Sir Kingsley to exit the compartment.
He gazed down at the red-haired girl and stood up straight, dipping his hands into his slacks pockets. "What do you think you can achieve by behaving like this?" His voice was calm, bracing himself in facing the situation.
Blair ignored him and tried standing up, wanting to prove to herself and to Sir Kingsley that she didn't need help nor did she need to be reminded of how humiliating her behavior was. But her arms shook as they carried her weight and ended up falling again so she just closed her eyes, hoping that she could be swallowed by the floor so she could disappear in an instance.
Sir Kingsley took that as a chance to scoop her up and place her on the bed again but changed his mind at the last second, instead he walked out of the compartment and headed towards the door. The nurse watched as Sir Kingsley calmly walked while Blair was punching his chest with her small fists. She still didn't move from her seat but her eyes followed their every move.
Sir Kingsley opened the door and placed the girl on her feet, holding her up by her arm. The students who were noisily roaming around the hallways and corridors were all smiling and laughing as if nothing happened but once they saw Sir Kingsley and Blair, their laughs died down and their smiles waned enough not to be seen as an exaggeration. Their gazes discreetly stared at Blair and Sir Kingsley but when they saw the big frown on his face, they immediately looked away and whispered to themselves.
Blair's widened eyes scanned the hallway in shock and embarrassment. She saw how the students curiously looked at her, she saw how everything seemed to be fine or at least pretending to be, she saw how quickly they looked away and walked away as if she was a plague they needed to run away from.
"Is this what you want, Blair? To let them see how frail you are? To walk out of the campus and come back tomorrow to continue your terrible life? To let those idiots cruelly manipulate and use you?" He disappeared inside the infirmary and came back to her side with her school bag. "Go on then. Be their guest." He extended his arm and held the bag in front of her.
Blair was open-mouthed and reluctantly accepted the bag but the added weight bucked her knees and Sir Kingsley quickly held her up. She glanced at him and saw how he was frowning at the students who were passing by in a hurry. She realized that he was the reason why they were running away, not because of her. Her face heated up and she removed her eyes on him and let his words sink into her mind.
Sir Kingsley carried her back into the infirmary and placed her on the bed when he saw how Blair finally regretted her behavior earlier. She avoided looking at him and laid on her back while focusing on the white curtains that were lightly flowing from the air-conditioner since it was placed near to where she was. "I won't say their names." She timidly uttered, recalling the abuse she had received from her family and classmates while others just watch and look away.
"I'm not expecting that information from you. What I want to know is your parent's contact information. We need it to contact them so they can-"
Blair looked at him and rapidly shook her head. "You won't be able to contact them. They're unavailable and nonexistent." At least in her life, they haven't been acting as her parents who were supposed to care for her, they were just her supervisors and advisors as if she was a Queen and they were controlling her decisions for her.
Sir Kingsley's mouth closed and a small smirk rested on his face in satisfaction. Of course, he already knew about that because if Blair has caring parents then they would have charged into the school and complained about the students who were bullying her. Parents of the students who were attending the exclusive school weren't afraid to cause a commotion, in fact, they always speak their minds and they were all-powerful enough to bring each other down. He just wanted Blair to confirm that and to let her speak first without needing to directly ask her about her relationship with her parents.
"Do you have anyone who we can notify about the situation?" He continued asking her, his intentions were only to know who she could rely on at the kind of problem she's facing.
Blair's blue eyes recoiled and remained on her heaving chest. "I do. She's my nanny." Blair glanced at him warily. "Other than Grace, you have no one to contact in my family."
Sir Kingsley nodded. "Can you go home under your condition?" He asked since he knew how difficult it must be for Blair to go home when everyone already knew what was happening to her and they might act blind or at least pretend to cause a commotion to act as if they care about their child.
"I can. They will not take me away from this school anyway. They need me to be here or else everything they have worked for will be for nothing, they will even pretend as if they can't see the bandages. Although they might ask me to stay away from you." Blair finally opened up about her parents with a small sad smile while sniffing and pulling the blanket to cover herself up.
"As expected." Sir Kingsley muttered then nodded. "I will contact your nanny, Blair-"
The nurse abruptly interrupted them and Sir Kingsley glared at her but the nurse spoke nonetheless. "I apologize, Sir Kingsley but I was notified by our director that there are visitors on the campus today. They are going to check every room to apparently ensure the quality and condition of the school." She has her doubts about that information that she heard from the director of the school since every time they have visitors, it would be told to everyone beforehand so they could prepare.
Sir Kingsley's head tilted to the side in confusion, he has the same suspicions about the unexpected visitors. Blair on the other hand, already knew who might be behind it all. She sighed and covered herself with the blanket up to her shoulders, tightly gripping them in fear and shame. The adults looked at her and the nurse smiled gently at her. "You don't have to worry about those people, Blair. We could tell them about your situation to help yo-"
Sir Kingsley and Blair glared at her and made her shut up. "That won't happen." Sir Kingsley dismissed the topic at the same time Blair said, "If they find out about me, the school will go down in hell." She understood what could happen if the visitors knew about her situation because so many problems arose in only a matter of days.
The nurse's smile slowly faded. "W-what do you mean by that? We don't even know if the visitors are powerful enough to do that." She refused to acknowledge their words while glancing at them and shaking her head in disagreement and ridicule.
"They are powerful enough to do that, Ms. Evans. If they can enter the school unexpectedly then they certainly can bring the school down. They're here for a reason that something or someone might have done." He looked at Blair. "You have an idea?"
Blair nodded. "I-I'm not sure but maybe it could be because of my father." She meekly answered while glancing at the nurse since she was uncomfortable with her.
Sir Kingsley looked at the nurse and she exasperatedly sighed but nodded and left them. "Why?" He questioned while folding his arms across his chest.
"My family's powerful enough to do that but I can't exactly tell you the reason why. Maybe someone talked to them."
Sir Kingsley contemplated her words for a moment, thinking about the possibilities of who that person could be. It could be possible that someone talked to them to report about the problems in the school or maybe they thought they could help. "You told me that your parents need you to be here. How come they also want to ruin the school?"
Blair's face flushed. "I-I don't know."
"I don't believe that it's your father. I believe it's someone who reported some information to them." Sir Kingsley thought of Layla, he thought if she had seen something suspicious. He didn't her to be involved because she's not supposed to but he knew that Layla could observe her surroundings quietly. He knew she could be trusted.
"I will contact your nanny, I will tell her that you will come home now because if the visitors are still roaming the school we need to hide you. They can't know about you, or if they already know then I don't want to confirm their surmise." He had a premonition that if they are to know about the bullying scandal, the person who's behind it will be pleased with the confirmation of the downfall of the school.
Blair understood that she needs to be hidden and her family's driver was probably already waiting for her in the parking lot but she couldn't be seen with her bruises and her injuries. Blair told him her nanny's number but Sir Kingsley was already walking out of the compartment. "I know your nanny's number, Blair. I asked it from the office." He told her.
After a few moments, he came back with a satisfied look in his eyes. "Your nanny is here. She will help us hide you and get you out of here." He hesitantly helped her up on the bed. "Go to the restroom and let Ms. Evans assist you in changing your clothes."
Blair was compliant and nodded while Sir Kingsley carried her towards the restroom where the nurse was waiting with a kind smile. Blair looked down and her eyes widened when she saw before her eyes how her bruises were slowly fading away, the purple and blue hues of the ugly discolored areas on the skin of her body were vanishing as clear as when smoke fades away. She examined her arms and touched them, they were still painful but they were hidden well. The nurse's eyes widened as well when she saw how clear her skin appeared to be. Sir Kingsley looked down at Blair while he placed her down and saw what they were seeing. His brows furrowed and his eyes scanned her entire petite frame.
"H-how?" The nurse stepped back in surprise and dismay, wondering how could such a thing be possible.
