"Ma'am, I don't want to disrespect you regardless of anything but I don't think I'll agree next time if you order me to do something for our new history teacher." Layla told her homeroom teacher. Ms. Greene sighed and looked at her while pulling her glasses up her nose and leaned back on her chair.
"I get you, child. Are you okay? Did something happen?" She asked and goes back to reading some papers. Layla, for a few seconds, didn't answer because Ms. Greene reminded her of Sir Kingsley and she tried all her best not to get angry. "Well?" Ms. Greene looked up to her from the papers and waited for her to talk.
Before Layla could speak, someone knocks on the door, and they both looked at the door. "Come in." Ms. Greene said and the person comes in without hesitation.
"I wanted to speak to you about-" Layla frowns at the man who just entered and quickly scowls while turning her gaze away from him. She is starting to feel different emotions at once and it only made her angrier.
Sir Kingsley stares at her blankly and returned his gaze to Ms. Greene with the same blank stare but even with his emotionless eyes, Ms. Greene suddenly turns bright red and she couldn't look directly into his eyes, immediately getting flustered and intimidated by his cold stare and handsome face. Layla saw that and rolled her eyes at them. "It seems like you're busy. I'll come back later."
Ms. Greene's eyes widened because she doesn't want him to leave but nodded eventually because she's still speaking to one of her students. Layla just scoffed and shake her head. "No need. I'll be heading out now."
"Wait, child. Why don't we discuss the-"
Layla gave a small smile before cutting her off. "I-It's a mistake, Ms. Greene, I'm sorry for wasting your time." Then she looked at Sir Kingsley with the same smile, gritted teeth inside her mouth, and nods. "Please, go ahead. I'll get out now."
Sir Kingsley looked at her but didn't utter a word and examined the way she's hiding her true emotions but it shows in her body language that she's angry and sad at the same time. Sir Kingsley looked away from her before he can feel quilty again and nods. She left the room and closed the door behind her with a sigh and while rubbing her temples in frustration that was boiling up inside her and because she does not like what she feels when she sees him. Sir Kingsley glanced at the door again and shake his head as if trying to get a hold of himself and get rid of his thoughts about his student that he chose to help.
"Why was she here?" He asked and looked at Ms. Greene directly into her eyes which he knew would make her flustered and nervous enough to tell him the truth. He almost rolled his eyes when he saw her exactly what he thought because somehow, he is hoping that he's wrong.
"Uh, s-she doesn't want to be involved in matters that have anything to do with you." Ms. Greene stuttered all the way and tried to keep eye contact with the attractive man but she just keeps getting flustered.
"Just as expected and that's actually quite understandable but let her be." He licked his lips and crossed his arms while walking to sit in the chair in front of Ms. Greene's desk without waiting or asking for Ms. Greene's permission to do so.
Ms. Greene only watched him, confused and lost. "B-but I thought that you wanted me to instruct her things-"
"That's done." He leaned towards her and looked at her with serious dead eyes that made her gulp and lean back further into her chair. "And never tell her that I paid for her tuition, you hear me? Don't say anything about me because it's better to keep your mouth shut."
She nodded and gulped down the lump in her throat and he nods back when he's satisfied with scaring her while moving his face away from her and he dusted his suit as if it's dirty just by being in the same room with her.
"Besides, I never told you to order her to get the books. I only told you to make sure that she's being responsible because I don't want my money to get wasted. Don't twist my words, Greene. I didn't tell you to order her and her classmate around like dogs." He stood up and looked at her as if she's a filthy animal that truly disgusts him. "I'm done here. It's not necessary to speak to you anyway. I'm only wasting my time." He fixed his gray suit and gave her a nod. Then he walks out of the door, leaving Ms. Greene alone and flustered with rosy cheeks and a stunned look.

When Layla got home, Amon stared at her with a glare and followed her every move while Layla completely ignores him and did whatever she needs to do. She was furious enough to even handle Amon because he can be quite a handful too. She stepped inside her room and Amon followed her, still glaring at her and she starts reading a book, keeping her mind occupied because she still doesn't know what she'll do with her free time other than cleaning, reading, and writing.
"Layla." Amon started, finally opening his mouth to speak and he walks towards her and stood in front of her while looking down at her and she looked up to him, looked down again at the book and slumped on the bed. Amon snarls at her. "Why are you ignoring me?"
"You're being weird, Amon. How can I not ignore you?" She answered, very calmly and she immediately slumped her book down on the bed and groaned while ruffling her hair in annoyance, she remembers Sir Kingsley reading a book while looking at them as if she and Liv were the stupidest humans that he ever encountered with all his entire lifetime and the image and his words were still stuck in her mind, it annoyed her to death as she feels like she's doing exactly what he did to them, and she's doing it now towards Amon.
"What are you not telling me?" Amon asked her while watching as Layla kept ruffling her hair and she looked up to him with a glint of remorse and bitterness in her eyes. Her hair is all messy and Amon chuckled even if he was angry at her and he is accusing Layla of hiding something big from him. At first, he thought that maybe Layla has found someone that she shouldn't even breathe the same air with but Layla has proven him wrong because Amon expected to see her happy, and with dreamy eyes but it was actually quite the opposite because Layla right now is angry and confused. He felt relieved that Layla hasn't discovered anything.
Layla stayed quiet and didn't even utter a word to tell him what's wrong. Amon patiently waited for her but after a few more seconds of silence, he spoke, threatening Layla to either speak or he'll use his ability to go inside her mind and hear all her thoughts.
Layla stared at him and Amon thought that his threats worked but when he saw her looking at him like he's the biggest fool she has ever met, he opens his mouth to speak but Layla beats him to it. "Go ahead then. Do as you wish. Maybe you'll even use your ability to wipe out all my memories too."
Amon glares at her but Layla remained her blank stare. Amon growled and shakes his head in annoyance and confusion while he slumped down on the bed beside her. His head tilts and carefully examines Layla from head to toe, trying to figure out why she's acting like that. "What do you mean, human? Why are you suddenly allowing me to go inside your mind?"
She was never like that because she rarely allows Amon to do as he wishes; to just go inside her mind, read her thoughts, and see things the way Layla's eyes see things. Layla is a very private person and she likes to handle things alone especially when she knows that she can do it alone. She seldom allows Amon to bother her and disrespect her by stepping into her comfort zone.
"There's nothing you can hear inside my mind. It's blank but it's like a loop of a never-ending hell. It's blank yet it's dark and it confuses and scares the hell out of me. I'm just slightly relieved now that I no longer have those messy thoughts but maybe it's because I've resolved it." Amon was truly shocked by the words that came out of her mouth such as 'hell' and 'a never-ending loop'. She never did like those parts of the bible. She didn't like hell, demons, or the devil just as much as other religious people hate it too, the only difference between Layla and those religious people is that Layla isn't religious.
Amon looked at her for her approval once more and made sure that she is really allowing him to go inside and read her thoughts. Layla was completely annoyed by him because he didn't get that Layla was just saying that as her way of shrugging him off and that Layla was just half-joking by allowing him to go inside her mind. But she just nodded at him and broke their staring eye contest before Amon did what he was itching to do. Amon could not hear a single thought inside her mind and he just scoffed as he finds it ridiculous.
"What happened, human? Do you want me to send someone to heaven earlier than everyone expected? Do I need to call for a demon to kill and steal their useless soul?" Amon stood up and his scowl is plastered on his face, he turned around and head out of the door, determined to kill someone for making Layla the way that she is right now.
"Amon."
"What?" Amon snaps at her and looked at her with fury. "Tell me who the fuck do I need to send to the graveyard at this hour!" He licks his lips at the thought of stealing away a soul from a human, striving to have a soul.
"Amon, you're acting very strange." His eyes soften and remember that Layla doesn't know that he's a demon so he walks towards her and sat beside her before holding both of her hands and looked at her with that same determination but without anger.
"I'm very well aware of that fact, Layla. I just don't like seeing you like this. Why don't you just tell me what's wrong and we'll work it through." Layla couldn't help but be suspicious of him but just pretended to shrug it off and tell him half of the truth.
"I've had a long day. My new history teacher is seriously testing me. I hate him and I think it's mostly because he replaced Sir Arthur and I'm not accepting the fact that I'll never see him again, instead I'll be seeing another person who doesn't even compare to him in the tiniest bit." She explained, not giving off anything that has happened in her day. She doesn't want Amon to annoy her more than he already does and she hates oversharing.
Amon tried comforting her, awkwardly and it doesn't even last long because Layla was already pushing him out of her room and tells him to leave because he's not making her feel better and that she'll feel better more if she's alone. Amon just scoffed at her and walked out of her room, he turns around to annoy her one more time but Layla already slammed the door after she waves at him goodbye and he couldn't do anything but frown and glare before going to do whatever.
Layla stares at the ceiling the whole time she is thinking about what Sir Kingsley told her. She doesn't want to be there at the meeting because Sir Kingsley already clarified that she isn't needed there but she wants to accept his challenge because even if it annoys her, she couldn't really ignore him. After all, he's her teacher and she might as well face him sooner than never. Besides that, she wants to comfort her classmates in case something horrible happens inside the room where the meeting will be held. She didn't want them to be alone and feel alone so she is willing to be there for them and care for them.
