章 221: Did You Just Laugh?!

Alex wished he could have met Ray's adoptive father. He sounded like a really interesting person. 

"How did he deal with his guilt?" he asked. 

Ray took another swig of water before answering. "Moving forward and trying to be as good a person as possible. It was all he could do to survive. When he came back from the war he married the girl he had been writing and had three kids. 

"He lost all of them due to various circumstances but he never stopped moving forward. He was a well-known figure in the community who was always willing to lend a helping hand, even if it was only to compensate for his own grief and loneliness. 

"My point here is you just have to keep moving forward. Think about the good you've done already! Claire is alive and almost all of the other Numbers made it out and are getting to experience life for themselves because of you.
