~ Max Alcantara's Point of View ~
"Sir Max, I'll remind you that you have a family dinner tonight. Please, don't forget about it or else Madam Clara will be nagging me."
I sighed and replied, "Thank you for always reminding me, Robin."
He's been with me when I started studying. Robin would send and fetch me home every weekday without complaints.
Not just like my own father, who is busy with his business and money related meeting.
"Oh! Look at the blind girl, Sir Max!" Robin pointed out the girl he was referring to.
I get my things from the backseat and looked where he was staring at.
"Sophie," I mumbled upon watching Sophie. She was embarking to walk ahead from the girl behind her but Sophie didn't bother when the girl clutched her arms around her.
Robin looked at me and said suspiciously, "You know her, Max?"
I answered, "Yes. Very well, Robin."
"Ohh! Well, I'll be right back later to fetch you. See you, Sir Max!"
Robin get into the car and started the engine. He opened the window and wave his left hand at me.
I waved my hand at him and said, "Goodbye, Robin! See you!"
I watch him drive away from my new school, new environment, and a new beginning.
I walked slowly and followed Sophie with her friend. I don't know what to say when she finds out that I've volunteered to be her new coach.
That I talked to her adviser as soon as I found out about the upcoming singing contest.
That I want to be her friend, again.
"We're here, Sophie! We just arrived at the right time." Sophie's companion exclaimed and looked at me with a big smile.
Sophie raised her eyebrows and said, "What do you mean by 'we arrived at the right time?"
"Your new coach is here, who's next to us. Wooah! He's handsome, Sophie!"
Upon hearing it, I shyly clasped my hands and put it on my nape.
Sophie sighed and mumbled, "Shut up, Kate."
The girl offered her hand at me. She looks sassy and jolly but still, she looks beautiful.
In my peripheral vision, Sophie tried to walk into her sit, alone, and struggling.
"Good morning, I'm Kate and you are Mr...–"
"Good morning too! Oh! I'm Max and nice to meet you, Kate."
Sophie halted from sitting. She then turned her head, facing us, and said, "Max?!"
"Yes. Anyway, let's start with our practice, Sophie. I will make sure that you will bring home the bacon."
I walked into my table and set up the digital piano. It would be better if I play with it while Sophie is singing the song she was chosen to perform.
I closed my eyes when I realized that I forgot something important. "Oh! I forgot to bring with me the sheet. I'll get it first! Stay here and wait for me!"
"Don't worry, we will patiently wait for you, Max!"
Kate told me cheerfully.
Sophie gasped then I hurriedly run towards the music's room.
"Tsk!" I exclaimed out of nowhere.
As I remembered, I put the sheet into my bag last night. How come that it wasn't even there?
I forgot to watch my step in my quickness and carelessness.
Unfortunately, I dumped someone who's passing by.
I know it was my fault, because of me. "D*mn! I am... I am really sorry, Miss. I am just in a hurry. I'm so sorry."
She flipped her hair and looked at me, surprised and stunned. "Max Alcantara?!"
"Yna?" I uttered.
"Oh! Small world, what are you doing here anyway?" Yna changed a lot. From being a shy and nerd type of girl turned into a sizzling and gorgeous high school girl.
I smiled bitterly and replied, "I decided to transfer here, luckily Mrs. Montefalcon approved my request. How about you, what are you doing here? I thought only participants of the forthcoming event are here together with their coaches?"
How naive I am? Of course, she's here even though she's not a participant. Yna came from a wealthy and popular family and it would be an advantage to the stakeholders of the said school.
Yna hit my arm mischievously. Then, she gave me an abrupt laugh and said, "I'm one of the participants in the singing contest. I'll be expecting your whole heart support for me, Max."
She winked at me that made me smiled sweetly. She's still the Yna I've met two years ago.
I replied, "Really? I thought you don't have any talent aside from being a stubborn and intransigent girl."
I could still remember when she was being punished by our music teacher because of talking nonsense with her seatmate.
Yna was forced to sing in front of our classmate and most of us burst into a loud laugh upon hearing her deafening, horrible voice.
It was the most embarrassing experienced she has been through despite possessing everything.
"Well, forget about what happened two years ago. Anyway, see you around Max! My boyfriend is waiting for me at the entrance. Bye!"
Yna smiled at me genuinely and vanished instantly at my sight.
She seems happy with her boyfriend. I wonder who's the guy who accidentally courted such a hard-headed girl like Yna.
I touch my nape upon walking into the music room as what I've needed to do.
As soon as I find what I am looking for, I went back to Sophie's room with the sheet in my hand.
"Oh! What an unlucky day!"
I mumbled when I saw Xian, standing while watching Sophie from afar.
I walked closer to him and said, "What are you doing here?"
He turned his gaze at me, putting his hands in his pocket. Xian looked at me suspiciously and didn't answer my question.
D*mn! He's really a jerk!"
"I can do whatever I want to do! I can watch whoever I want to watch. In other words, no one can stop me from doing what I prefer."
As soon as he finished talking to me with no trace of respect, Xian turned his back at me like no one is talking to him.
"Don't you ever turn your back on me again! Maybe you belong to a prosperous family and so I am. So, don't brag your fortune, Xian."
"I am not bragging. I never wish to."
He talked to me coldly, as if we're not at the same level. As far as I know, his family and my family have the same status.
Even though I am pissed off right now, I choose to be calm and bold.
"Also, I am reminding you for the last time, stay away with Sophie."
I've waited for his response but Xian persisted to do so, making me pissed and scram.
