章 15: This Is All Hogwash
At 1pm Deb Oh was surfing the internet when she came across a controversial article about a well known singer, Ana Del on H-magazine website.
=Why am I facing so much criticism in the industry for the music I make? You claim that my music promotes abusive relationship! Fine! But what about other women of color (FI, KV, DX) that take off their clothes to do music? I don't see them experiencing the same heat that I'm getting in my song! This is all hogwash if you tell me!"
Deb Oh scrolled down her computer to see the replies from netizens, most of which were very inflammatory and aggressive. One in particular caught her attention.
=What the hell?! How dare she say the name of FI?! Does she think that because she's a non-minority that she could get a free pass?! This WT should not even go there, in fact she needs to wash the names of all the people she mentioned in her online post from her mouth!"
"I'm not sure why people are not allowed to share their opinion? You as a person may not agree to what the other person is saying but that doesn't give anyone the right to flame or write harmful content to another person. This is just the public looking to displace their frustration during lockdown on a celebrity. What a shame!"
Deb Oh shook her head as the thought ran through her mind. It was clear that she didn't think much of the comments made by the anonymous users.
Deb Oh assumed that the anger expressed by the netizens stemmed from their frustration with the mandatory lockdown placed by the government due to the pandemic that had no cure.
