章 19: Hunter License

BANG! Crack! Boom!

Dante was punched hard and bounced on the floor like a skipping stone.

"Dante!!!"

The panicked Vice guild master Hansel urgently rushed towards him.

"Medics!! Quick, come and bring the medics!!!"

As Hansel urgently shouted out, an Awakener that was on standby outside the entrance hurriedly came in.

"Ah!"

"I'll start by stopping the bleeding!"

''Don't worry, I'm fine.'' Dante stopped the Awakener who was about to treat him and his injuries started healing at a visible rate shocking the man and finally reminding Hansel that he possessed such a godly skill.

''Ah! I'm sorry. I will compensate for your spear and you have passed the evaluation with flying colors.'' Hansel felt at ease, he exhaled a breath out of relief.

''Follow me.'' He ordered and Dante stood up and followed after him.

A few minutes later they stopped before a room, Hansel invited him in.

"Coffee or tea, which one would you like?" He asked.

"A Coffee, please," Dante answered.

As he waited for a moment on the chair, Hansel brought two steaming coffees.

"What did you want to talk about?" He asked while taking a sip of his black coffee.

"I'm curious, do you have a separate guild you want to join in mind?"

"No, there is none."

Dante shook his head firmly, his goal wasn't to join a guild.

"Then…?"

"I'm thinking of acting alone for now."

"Ah! I see."

A short exclamation flowed out of Hansel's mouth.

Most of those that became Hunters often do it because they wished to join the larger guilds outside, he thought Dante was the same, he would be probably joining a guild under Lady Lemegoton but judging from Dante's response he had no plan for that.

"Let me brief you about dungeons.'' Hansel suddenly declared.

Dante nodded. He understood that it was his way of killing time until his Hunter's license arrived.

''Dungeons are ranked. From the lowest to the highest. F to SS. Lvl 1 Novice Awakeners can go into F and E rank dungeons, while Lvl 2 can have access to D-C rank dungeons, Lvl 3 and Lvl 4= B, only Master Awakener can go to an A rank dungeon. There is even AA only accessible to Lvl 6 and above. S to SS to those at the summit. You are too far from this level, so you should focus on low-level dungeons for now. Although dungeons are a place filled with riches and can help you level up, they are dangerous places one should not underestimate.'' Hansel advised at the end of his explanation.

''I see, I'm grateful for your warning. I will surely keep it in mind.'' Dante responded and his response shocked Hansel who thought he would only nod like he used to.

''Good. Nice timing.'' He detected his subordinate's presence and shortly later someone walked in with a plate containing a black card.

Hansel picked up this black card and gave it to Dante.

''This is your hunter's license. You're registered as one Star and a half meaning that you can enter up to D rank dungeon. You may drop your blood on it to get bound to it.'' Hansel explained to Dante who was examining the black card which was not much larger than your typical credit card but unlike them, it was made of resistant material and was durable, almost indestructible.

There was one star and a half on the black card testament to how special his Hunter's license is.

Dante immediately let a drop of his blood onto the black card which absorbed it. He felt a special connection to it. It was then his smartwatch vibrated which surprised but Hansel who had been expecting this immediately explained to him.

''Don't worry, it's nothing negative on the contrary it means that both your card and smartwatch are connected. You can now easily access your status in real-time, your hunter's license will keep your smartwatch up-to-date with your status. You can also check the available quests and dungeons with this but only for higher ranked Hunters or those with a special Hunter's license such as you.''

''That is some nice function.'' Dante could not hide his admiration for this function Hunter's license has. It is right that the smartwatch can keep him updated on his status progress but there is a limit, however, with the link between his Hunter's license and the smartwatch, there wouldn't be any problem, plus the other functions that this license had, it was no wonder Dante would feel admiration.

Dante's eyes gleamed and Hansel mistakenly assumed that he was genuinely happy, but only if he knew what was in his mind at the moment he would have had a heart attack.

'There must be a complex system at work for the two devices to be connected and I can use this link and hack into their system, Hunter's association system to have access to valuable information. As for the tracking function, this can be disabled at will thanks to my system.'

Upon thinking of the many possibilities he got thanks to this linkage, a faint smile surfaced on Dante's face.

[Master, from the first probing I did I can say that it will take some time to hack into their system. Should I start immediately?] Nemesis, the system faithful to its master had taken the first step after noticing her master's desire.

'Please do.' Dante responded with a smile, he would not say no to this golden opportunity.

Hansel nodded pleased with himself and thought that maybe this young man was not as irresponsive as he seems. He shook his head and with the snap of his fingers, someone brought over a long suitcase and opened it. What was lying inside this suitcase is a long black spear.

The promised spear has arrived.
