"You make it sounds like I owe you a favor, instead of asking me for a favor." Ignoring the look on Lucy's face, Mike swiped his wrist to open the door of his suite, leaving Lucy outside of his door.
Mike was just about to close his door, when Lucy stretched out her hand and blocked him from closing the door. "Wait. Don't you want to let the people know what is happening around the world right now? My youtube video can garner the attention of the people, fast."
In the state of panic, Lucy draws out her hand to block the door from closing without thinking.
'Ah, I just lost my cool image just now. Damn it.'
Flashing her most innocent smile, Lucy plead to Mike, "Please... can you, do me a favor, this once?"
Sighing tiredly, Mike let go of the door and invite Lucy in. He did not have the time to entertain this pampered arrogant young lady.
"Come in. Make it quick. What do you want me to say in the interview of yours?" Sitting down on the sofa, Mike frowns his forehead while he looks at Lucy.
Feeling that Mike has raised the protective bar around her, Lucy adjusts her attitude to be looking like a meek and bubbly young lady.
"Well, aren't you going to invite me to sit first, before we talk?" Lucy smiled sheepishly at Mike.
"No, I don't want to. Let us get this over right this instance." Mike pursed his lips in a straight line as he did not lower down his overbearing aura.
'Hah, people may have forgotten who I am before I came to live in this bunker. I am a renowned Scientist and one of the leaders in USGS. If this young lady could subdue me, to do her command, it would disgrace my status.'
'If one wants to ask me a favor, they have to ask politely, and please me first.'
Grinding her teeth in anger, Lucy tries to soften her face to conceal her real feelings.
'Okay, you win this time. I will lower down my ego for a bit, just for the sake of the people out there that crave for the truth.'
Lucy quickly restores her meek and bubbly young image when she spoke to Mike.
Forcing a smile on her face, Lucy replied, "Well, are you mad at me for bumping with you earlier? If so, I am sorry. I did not mean to bump at you just now."
"No, I am not mad at you about that. I am running out of time. So, whatever business you have with me, let's do it right now. I will give you only 5 minutes." Looking at his watch, Mike crossed his leg, and look at the panicky face of Lucy.
'5 minutes?? Damn, I better hurry.'
Fumbling with her camcorder, Lucy quickly sets up her equipment to get ready for recording. While her body moves frantically, she did not forget to make a conversation with Mike.
"All I wanted you to do is simple. You just have to answer my questions truthfully, without masking anything. I believe that you want the people to get ready on whatever is going to happen am I right?" Lucy said her last word with a mocking smile.
Mike paused his movements, and he stared at Lucy.
'How did she knows? Did she overheard me just now talking to Mike?'
Smoothing the creases on his shirt, Mike feigned his ignorance, while he speaks, "I have never hide anything."
Lucy raised her eyebrows when she heard Mike's reply.
'Never hide anything huh? Guess, I will force you to admit it yourself that you have been fooling the public all these while then.'
Lucy clears her throat and sat in front of the camera, before she said, "Great, then we shall start the interview now. Shall we start?"
Clutching both of his palms together, Mike nodded his head. All of a sudden, his overbearing aura was gone, and it was replaced by a professional stance, complete with his serious 'I-mean-business' face.
Feeling that the mood was right, Lucy started her interview with a brief introduction of her interviewee job.
Mike gave his full cooperation in answering all of the questions that Lucy asked until he hesitated slightly when he was asked about the Pods. Mike looked up at Lucy, and he stared at her.
'She heard us... she heard our conversation.'
"Lucy, the Pod that you mention just now is not a secret to the public. It is just that you have known it earlier than everyone else. A selection will be conducted all over the participating countries, and the chosen one will get have the chance to continue living in space." Mike answers Lucy question with an annoyed face.
'Hah, what an ill brat. She eavesdrop others conversation!'
Mike glance at his watch again, at he quickly stood up.
"Ah, look at the time. I have done you a favor more than I should by exceeding our interview session for another 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I have to go now. You don't have to thank me. If you please, young lady..."
Standing up in an upright gentleman manner, Mike propped his hand towards the direction of the door, prompting Lucy to make her move out of his suite.
Huffing and puffing, Lucy stood up angrily and she gave off a mocking smile to Mike, "Well, I shall not delay Dr. Michael's business any longer, and I will excuse myself for now."
Gritting her teeth, Lucy packed up her recording equipment and heads out to the door. With a slam, she shuts the door angrily.
The sound was loud enough to make Mike snickers.
'Hah, an ill brat through and through.'
'Didn't I deserves at least a thank you from her?'
Shaking his head disapprovingly, Mike stares at the direction of his dining table.
"Right, I remembered that I need to retrieve something from my room just now... but, what was it again?" Mike speaks to himself while his hands fumbled with the documents on the dining table.
