Mingyu just bowed and rushed towards carriage explaining the servant's everything. One of the servants rushed to the caravan in front of him and explained everything to Mingli that sat on the horse.
He rushed back and saw most of the carriage leaving towards his group and nodded. ''We will bring it to the farm.''
Shu Ya just nodded and waved her hand to send him on his way while behind her one carriage appeared with Hongyu sitting on it. He jumped down and pointed at a comfortable carriage he rented from one small noble he met on the ship.
But Bai Fu was against it. ''Our carriage has a lot of space so you will drive with us.'' But saw her shaking head.
''Uncle, I need that carriage as I want to sleep as well. I couldn't sleep from all those people as they woke me up before sunrise. After rest, I will transfer to your carriage and I can send them the other carriage on their way back.'' She just wanted to sleep comfortably.
Bai Fu chuckled. ''I and boys came with our horses. This carriage was prepared by your aunt. So just sit inside comfortably and when you wake up call us and we can talk.''
''Oh, then in that case... Mingyu, go to the noble and tell him I am most grateful but my family picked me up.'' She took a small bag of money and gave it to Mingyu. ''My thanks to his noble thought.''
Mingyu understood and rushed away while Bei Fu shook his head. ''It was enough to tell him thanks. You didn't have to pay him...''
''Uncle, some things can be done your way. Some things are better in my way. We never know if we ever need that nobles help again in the future.'' To burn bridges behind her she did enough. Now making new friends seems to be a good idea.
Bei Fu just sighed. he could see she had the same stubbornness as her mother. ''It seems you grew up too fast.''
Shu Ya staid still and just went to the carriage while holding her small head bowed in deep thought. before entering she looked at him. ''Uncle, let's not talk about mom. I have a good reason not to.''
He stared at her as he wanted to ask but she continued while her eyes went red and tears started falling. ''If it is possible to explain to our family after we come, as I probably won't be able. Uncle, when mom was kicked out of the house a few years ago I still was the daughter of the first wife, but just under one year I became less than a servant. Mother couldn't see me, and I couldn't see her so she never knew. On end, she was made to kill herself leaving me in misery. While ago I hit my head and lost all the last bits of the mother, of you all of everything. I became cold inside my heart as I lost all memories of family. But as well as my bad childhood. Sometimes I dream bits and pieces and I get a fever after that. I just don't want to be reminded. After meeting everyone and showing my respect I will go back home and visit you all after a while. You all are to me just strangers that are connected to my mom. Nothing more and nothing less.''
She bowed to the three of them and entered the carriage and just closed her eyes. ''I will sleep. Wake me up when everyone takes the rest.''
''Yes, miss.'' The guard closed the door with a cold face and stared at the three men. ''Miss Bai will rest now. It is time to move.'' He understood why this child had no sense of childishness. Emptiness, desolation and weariness were always excluded from the tiny child.
A young noble miss treated as a servant in her own family. He never heard that. Most people wouldn't dare to treat bad even concubines born but this young miss... He stood by the side and looked at his friend and he had the same expression. Their jaws clenched and suddenly coldness started excluding from their whole being.
Bai Fu was about to sit on the horse when he felt a murderous feeling behind his back. He turned around and saw the two guards standing by the carriage and everyone moving away as they felt the same.
His sons paled as they never encountered anyone with this much feeling and looked at the carriage in worry but then thought about it. No one would dare to harm their little cousin if these people stay by her side. Maybe it's better.
When they were already out the town Shu Ya opened her eyes and opened the envelope she got from Tao. Inside was a letter and a bunch of banknotes.
When she saw the banknotes her eyes became surprised. When she thought about a few banknotes she had before leaving and the whole bunch of it now, she was quite surprised and happy. She took off her sash and started folding the banknotes so they would fit inside.
Luckily the sash was big enough so all the notes were safely inside. She saw the letter and sighed.
Tao gave her more money as payment for the new recipes she gave him on their trip. She actually just remembered a few simple recipes so she told him. But didn't know he valued it so much.
She realized that she was neither in past times or her own world. All the names of places she never heard off. But after talking to Tao a few times she mentioned ancient names of places and he still looked at her with a strange expression.
Their country was quite bigger than the old one and was named Xsao. The main city name was Salax and it seems Emperor had only one Empress and no concubines. Only some people still held on that tradition to have multiple wives. But the upper nobility looked down on those people.
The world went almost to Kalaxius. It seems the Roman empire didn't break then conquered most of the European countries. Or something. That Emperor tried to conquer some countries near Mediterranea sea but was quickly fend off.
Not only that as there were no Columbus or Magellan or anything similar there was no big migration to America. That country was ruled by Aztecs that changed many things and at present have a huge and strong army.
Just in a few days she got pieces and bits of the outside world and was quite astonished. And as it seems no one still found Australia. Maybe even better...?
She sighed cuddled into her blanket and fell asleep again. What is the point of thinking about it, it's better eating well, sleeping well, living well, isn't it?
