"And I'd really like to move out as soon as possible" Wang Yun said into the phone immediately his younger brother Wang Jinhai entered his room without knocking.
Jinhai had been about to say something but shut his mouth when he noticed Yun was on a call.
"Yes, thank you." Wang Yun hung up and turned to look at Jinjai.
"Where did you leave your manners?" Yun asked Jinhai with a corked brow.
Jinhai looked him up and down and sat beside him on the sofa.
Wang Yun was formally dressed. He wore a complete set of suit and looked ready for offical business.
"Mother said you were on your way to work and asked me to stop you from doing so." Jinhai said reluctantly.
"Seriously?" Yun gave him a funny look that could be interpreted as "And you believe you can stop me?"
"Come on bro. It's Sunday."
"And I have to catch up. I've been away for too long and I must keep myself updated before people starts scheming behind my back"
"By people you mean mother's husband?" Jinhai raised a brow at him but Yun didn't answer.
"Just relax today. You've been busy since you came back to the country. We haven't even had enough time to chat and catch up." Jinhai pouted.
Wang Yun looked at him in amusement. "We've been talking everyday for the past one month. What else do you want to talk about? And can you quit pouting like a silly little girl?"
Jinhai turned to look at him. He was glad his brother was finally paying him some attention.
"Your love life..."
"My love life?" Yun asked in confusion.
After a little pause, Jinhai added, "There's something you need to know"
"And that is?"
"I know" Jinhai said with a sigh.
"You know what?"
"That.... you like... men." Jinhai blurted out.
Yun's jaw dropped. He stared at his brother with eyes filled with disbelief. "Where did you hear that nonsense from?" He asked after his shock subsided.
"What do you mean by nonsense? I've noticed it over the years. You never go out with women, you don't have female friends or a girlfriend, you don't like to employ women. You just like hanging around men."
Yun didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He liked men? How hilarious!
Jinhai continued. "It's the reason I've been pushing you towards that pretty girl from the club since she's the first one you've looked at with interest. And you even helped her up and took her number last night. But you also don't seem very interested"
Yun chuckled. He really didn't want to tell him he had been 'interested' in her because she had stolen his pen. But again, he had also watched her dance at the club the other time with interest so he really couldn't dispute that fact.
"Stop thinking nonsense." Yun said as he stood up.
"There are a lot of pretty women out there for me to be attracted to a man. How could you even think about something so absurd?" He turned to ask him.
Jinhai stood up and smiled brightly. "Really? So you really do not like men?"
"Gross" Yun shook his head and began to walk out.
"That's good news then. I'll just sign you up for a dating website. You'll meet a lot of cool ladies there." Jinhai said as he followed him..
"Don't even think about it." Yun said as he continued towards the door.
Once he got to his car, he took out his phone and dialed Lijuan's number.
*************
Lijuan heaved a huge sigh of relief once she was done reading some articles online.
She hated online schooling with passion even though it was the best choice for her.
Mei Rong was a graduate of business management who occupied a high position in Mei Corporation. Everyone knew she was going to take over the company one day.
Her younger sister, Mei Jiaying had also graduated the previous year and was preparing to go for her masters abroad.
While she on the other hand, had moved from one university to the other. Because of her predicament, she could not stay in one school for too long because of how people treated her so after years of moving about, they settled for online schooling. Now at 25, she was still schooling while her younger sister was a graduate already.
As she lay on her bed thinking of what to do, her phone rang. She saw it was a call from 'Jerk' and sat up immediately.
Now that she knew who he was, she was suddenly tensed and nervous.
"Hel—lo?" She stammered.
"Text me your address. I'm on my way." He said curtly before hanging up without giving her a chance to speak.
'Tsk. So rude, so because he is a rich guy he thinks he can just treat people anyhow?' Lijuan asked herself as she quickly texted him her home address.
She couldn't afford to get mad at him anyway, she was the thief who had stolen his pen after all and now that she had lied to her family about her relationship with him she had to be sweet to get him to cooperate with her.
Mei Lijuan looked at herself on the mirror and nodded. She was satisfied with her look.
As she took the stairs down, she saw her family watching the news together and began to whistle.
"Where are you going to?" Her father was the first to ask when they all turned to look at her.
She was dressed in a pretty short black gown that exposed her long legs and pink lowflats.
"I told you all I have a date. He's here to pick me up." Lijuan said with a smile, surprising all of them.
"Really? Vice President Wang is really here?" Mother Mei asked in surprise.
Lijuan winked at her mother and hurriedly went outside with her ponytail dangling behind her.
Wang Yun was already waiting for her inside his car by the time she got outside. She smiled when she saw his car. He was really rich after all.
He sized her up for a few seconds before he got down from the car and met her halfway before stretching out his hand to her.
He wanted to be done with this as soon as possible and leave.
Lijuan took a quick glimpse at the door behind and noticed her sisters and mother were watching from the window.
She knew why he was stretching out his hand but she did what she always did. She shook his hand, causing him to frown.
Wang Yun sighed as he tried not to get angry.
"Where is my pen?"
Lijuan nodded and began to cackle loudly.
She turned her face to the side so the spies could see her laughing and think she was having a good time.
"Oh my God. You are so funny." She said before hitting his shoulder playfully.
Wang Yun looked at her in confusion.
"Are you sure you are okay?" He asked with a confused frown.
She burst into laughter again and spun around. "Hahahaha.. I hear that a lot.. hahaha"
Yun frowned even more. Did she also have a mental problem? He wondered.
"Oh.. there's something in my eyes. Can you help me blow it?" She asked with a smile.
"Do you think I'm here to joke around or blow eyes?" He asked angrily.
"Just blow it. I'll give you your pen. It's inside my purse." She held up the purse she was holding.
He reluctantly moved closer to her and blew on her eye. When he was sure he had done enough, he stretched out his hand again.
"Thanks." She said with a smile. From her angle, she was pretty sure the spies would think they had been kissing.
Lijuan desperately hoped it was working. She hoped they believed everything.
"Just give me a ride to where I can find a cab." She said brazenly.
"Hey... are you trying to annoy me?" Yun asked, scowling at her.
"Please. I'll give you the pen before I get down... I promise." Lijuan pleaded, casting a quick glance at the spies.
Yun followed her gaze and noticed there were some people by the window who quickly scurried away when he saw them. He frowned as he looked back at Lijuan. He couldn't help but wonder what she was up to. What in God's name had she told them about?
He looked at her suspiciously before agreeing to drop her off. He only hoped they wouldn't have any reason to meet each other after today.
When she realised he had relented, she smiled brightly.
"Fine. Get in." He said through gritted teeth.
"Oh.. I can't open this kind of doors.. could you please do it instead?" She asked while giving him a sweet smile.
"What sort of game are you playing with me right now?" He asked her as he walked her to his car and opened the door.
