章 66: Hospitality
Silva smiled as he sat in his chair, his son had taken full charge of the family, and he was going a fantastic job. Instead of running away from his problems, Leon faced them head-on to not let down the family.
While Silva loved all his children but Leon especially, without being the head of the family, he had much more time to himself. It had been decades since he had so much time to himself. With his fifth child less than a month away, the future of the family was looking bright.
He just hoped this time they would have a girl as it looked like Kikyo wouldn't stop trying until she had one.
Leon sighed as he put on his most imposing outfit, a tight-fit red and black suit, the colors of his nation along with the symbol of his country stitched on the chest. It was that of yin and yang with black and red dragons.
Just as he was getting ready to depart, an alert came over his phone, and it read warning prepare for a blast. Leon sighed as a second later, a muffled boom shook the earth. Leon guessed they finished setting up the charges to blast the underground rooms.
"You're still here. I thought you would have been ready to greet our guest," Machi asked as she entered the room.
Leon shrugged as he fixed his suit, "I should keep them waiting, just another power play on my part."
Machi was silent for a minute, and Leon knew that she wanted to ask something, "So about that thing earlier that you said over the phone."
Leon smiled, "What that I loved you?" Machi was bushing rather brightly, "Well, what did you mean by that."
"Remember all those years ago when we bet on who would complete the most hunts." Machi frowned, "What does that have to do with anything."
"WelI just checked. With the expedition, I have three more hunts than you. So I have to ask, would you like to go on a date."
"Yes!" Leon smiled as Machi jumped to answer his proposal, "That's great. Unfortunately, it will have to wait a while. But I'm glad you said yes."
Leon couldn't afford to wait any longer. Outside his door, Uvogin was waiting, wearing his regular tank top and shorts, "Well, look's like someone might be overdressed."
Leon snorted, "Unlike you, I have some level of class and don't think tank tops and shorts are the appropriate attire to address ten thousand people when you are the head of a budding nation."
"Well, one thing for certain every king needs a queen." For the first time, Uvogin was able to one up on Leon.
Storming off, Leon tried to hide his embarrassment, but Uvogin's laughter didn't help any. Someone set out a platform that was high enough so that everyone could see me.
Not a second later, I turned around to see Gotoh walking over an iPad in his hand, "Gotoh I didn't know you were going to be here. Who's in charge of the house back home?"
"My protege Canary has taken charge with Tsubone supervising her." Leon smiled Gotoh taken Canary under his wing when he visited Meteor City to find more butlers to handle the family's growth.
"So how long before our guests arrived and is Netero going to say anything." Gotoh coughed at that, "The blimps should be here in half an hour, as for the head of the Hunters Association. He and your grandfather are indisposed at the moment."
Leon's eyes narrowed, "Described predisposed."
"Well, they have caught up over a few drinks."
"And describe a few drinks that can dispose of two of the world's strongest." Gotoh sighed, "Apparently Netero bought a barrel of Nitro rice Sake, and..."
Leon waved off Gotoh, "As long as he paid and signed the contract, okay then I have a speech to prepare."
Half an hour later the blimps landed and soon a the clear field was crowded with ten thousand bodies.
When everyone was settled, Leon stood behind a podium with Gotoh and Uvogin standing to his left and right.
Clearing his throat Leon started to speak, "Welcome Hunters of Hunter's Association. I am Leon Zoldyck leader of the dragon republic. Today marks the beginning of a new era, as you see the impossible has been done. A Haven as built in the Dark Continent, in the following months this small compound will be built into a city. And the Dragon Republic is thrilled to have the Hunters Association as an ally. We have entered an agreement that any and all must be reported to a Dragon Rebuplic official. Don't worry you shall be well compensated, with money, housing, or anything else of equal value. With that said please follow my men to your rooms."
I pointed to Butch where he was back up by fifty of my commanders just as I was about to leave someone got bold, "And why the hell should we listen to you!"
Before I could respond before Uvogin's bloodlust was unleashed, luckily he had enough restraint so only the man who had spoken out was affected.
"Do not mistake our will to cooperate with weakness. Now someone, pick him up and have a nice day." Eventually, everyone was moved out of the clearing, leaving Leon, Uvogin, and Gotoh alone.
"That guy was weak, I thought the Hunter exam was supposed to be hard." Leon rolled his eyes, "I could have handled him without your interference."
Uvogin shrugged, "Yeah but I wanted to have fun."
