"Don't dwell on it," was what he said. Zoey glanced at his inexpressive side profile, which caused the corner of her lips to curl upwards. 

"I guess I should listen then." She murmured, turning her attention to the couple on the stage as they made a toast. 

"Did you know?" Upon hearing her audible mumble, Matthew Xi offered her a side glance and asked vaguely. For some reason, he had the urge to ask such a question. 

"Know what?" Without glancing back at him, Zoey questioned back. She raised her bubbly champagne as a toast for the host of tonight's event. 

For a second, Matthew Xi only scrutinized Zoey's side profile. Alas, he could not read her easily. Did she guess the reason for Richard Sun's fear? Or was she bluffing so he would give her a hint? Regardless, all he could do was play as vague as possible or divert the subject.
