"Oh, and by the way! Before you leave, a friend of mine was looking for you. He said he wanted a rematch in case you arrive in this town. Do you know anyone named Krill?" Professor Goldberg questioned while putting us to a halt before leaving the doors of the Meteor Trainer House.
"Trainer Krill?! He's here, my rival is here?" My eyebrows raised while my face turned into shock. A part of me was determined while the rest of my body felt worried.
"So, he's your rival? I see he wants to battle you, he told me to tell you to challenge him in the town's plaza." Professor Goldberg uttered.
"The town's plaza, then what are we waiting for? You don't want to miss your rematch against Krill don't you?" Glade beamed with excitement and exuberance.
"Yeah, the thing is... I'm not quite confident to battle right now. Right Lucario?"
"Actually, I want to battle him." Lucario beamed with determination. His eyes turned into feisty ones while his heart burned with a fiery passion.
"Come on Kalem, you're stronger than Krill! Your bond with Lucario will surely knock out his Pokemons in a pinch. There's nothing to be afraid of." Camellia cheered and comforted.
It's been days months since my last solo battle against Krill. Of course, I'm pretty certain that he has a Blaziken on his side, plus a Gengar who knows yawn and dream eater. I wonder where he was able to trade? Anyways, Krill isn't the only one who got stronger. My Pokemons have trained hard and tough since the last time we've met. The only thing I can do is too huge strategies against his strategies, especially Gengar and his yawn + dream eater combo attack.
With a heavy and anxious heart, I accepted his rematch. I may have beaten him twice, but who knows? Maybe the tables have turned this time. the town's plaza, filled with grace and compassion. The place where the hearts of both people and Pokemon work together. People in the plaza work alongside with their Pokemons, some prepare for the grand beginning ahead while some decorated their house with the help of their Pokemons.
On the center of the plaza, I saw Krill and his thirst for victory. Arrogantly and patiently he sat down on the stairs of one of the old buildings. His eyes gazed upon the crowd like a robot scanning for a target.
"So... Look who's here?" Krill laughed viciously with his malicious scowl. On his fingers, he spun atop one of his Pokeballs. His arrogant body and posture sent tingles across my spine.
"I've heard that you wanted to challenge me Krill? How nice." I backlashed with a sarcastic move. Our eyes glared into each other's soul, while our fiery passions erupt.
"Let's get this settled with! I am going to be the Champion of the Laurenburg region!" Krill rose from the ground while tossing the Pokeball he spun on his finger. It was like he was in a rush or something.
"Wait... we haven't even decided the referee yet?" Camellia reminded.
"No need for one! Watch your friend lose against my strong Pokemons, I won't lose this time." Krill shouted with arrogance. His shout told me how hard his blood boiled with vengeance over his past two defeats. He looked like a mad man lacking sleep and rest.
"Hey, show some respect!" Camellia infuriated.
"I will respect those who deserve respect. You're not one of them." Krill murmured. I never knew that Krill would be this angry over two defeats. We're even steven now, I've lost twice, and he've lost twice. Who will break the draw? This will be a two on two Pokemon battle.
<Gengar! Geng!>As expected, his fist Pokemon was nothing but a Gengar. A poison and ghost type, time to even out the match with Scizor.
"Let's get this started shall we?! Gengar use Shadow Ball right now!"
"Scizor dodge the attack then use Flash Cannon!"
*Scizor dodged the attack as if he was using teleportation of some kind.*
"Hehe, I've heard about your swifty Scizor. Gengar, use Shadow Sneak right now! Try escaping that."
<Geng!>Scizor's body was dragged by the shadow behind me, succumbing him back to the ground.
"Ah Scizor?!"
"Gengar, now use Yawn on Scizor!"
"Kalem watch out... he's gonna use Dream Eater next!" Kira warned.
<Sciz>Scizor became drowsy and his speed finally declined gradually.
"Gengar! Now use Shadow Ball and finish off Scizor!"
"Wait... he didn't use Dream Eater?!" Camellia's eyes turned into awe and shock but a part of her was also getting worried about me and Scizor.
"Great... Scizor is finally asleep, now what?!" I beamed sarcastically while thinking of a plan. Why would Krill not command his Gengar to use Dream Eater... unless,
"Gengar finish Scizor with Shadow Sneak!"
<Geng!!!>Gengar laughed hysterically while finishing off my first Pokemon.
"Hmph! Scizor, you did a good job now return to your Pokeball! Buddy, you're up next."
<Lucario! Lucar!>Lucario jumped in with exuberance.
"You will always be a short-sighted fool. A fighting against a Ghost?! Foolishness! Gengar use Perish Song!"
*A song played on Lucario's mind as his eyes slowly turned black. Music Notes floated above his head.*
"Choose your three moves wisely! Now that Lucario is your last Pokemon, substitution will be unavailable!" Krill boasted with a malicious look on his face.
"Lucario! Use Aura Sphere right now!"
"Gengar dodge the attack!"
*Gengar tucked his body to the ground, making the sphere pass through. 2 moves remain.*
"Ah?! Lucario, try using Vacuum Wave this time!"
"Gengar blow black the wind!"
*Gengar's mouth opened widely and blew the wind back to Lucario. Now only one move remains for us. I remember Murdock using his Gengar against me, but Zoroark was able to counter Perish Song right away. Lucario and Zororak, both have different compatibilities.*
"Lucario! Use Vacuum Wave again!"
"Pfft! Gengar, do the same thing, it looks like the future champ doesn't know how to counter our move." Krill boasted. My mind was completely shrouded. There's nothing I could but call out an attack, Lucario's other moves won't deal any damage at all.
<Lucar!>Lucario dropped and fainted on the ground. Looks like Gengar's Perish Song was successful this time, this means I have to think of strategies against the move Perish Song now.
"Haha! I knew you would lose, I'm the next champion... no one else will stand in the way of the future. I hold the future in the palm of my hands!" Krill boasted while clenching his fist in front of the sun.
"Well yeah?! You're too arrogant to become a champion. Plus, the Pokemon League is in three months time meaning Kalem still has a lot of time to train." Camellia badgered.
"Thanks Krill." I smiled back while massaging Lucario's wounded body.
"Thanks?! What was that for?"
"You shouldn't have revealed your Perish Song to my Lucario. Now we have an opportunity to win, me and Lucario will train hard and think of strategies to defeat your Perish Song!" Me and Lucario beamed with determination.
"Pfft! I doubt. Me and Gengar still has new moves waiting for us. I'll be going now, I don't want to miss the grand beginning." Krill maliciously smiled while walking away from the plaza.
"Come back here you stubborn Scapegoat! I'm not done with you yet!" Camellia infuriated.
This match has proven to me and Lucario that our compatibilities hasn't reached their limit yet. Our bond may be strong, but there will always be room for improvement. Perish Song, three moves and the foe shall succumb. What better counter could avoid my Pokemons from fainting against that move? Even if our bond is strong, I should also remember to balance out power and strength...
