章 16: Thanos's day out
Thanos drove to the hospital. Going up to his office, his secretary walked up to him.
"Afternoon Dr Nigel."
" Afternoon Suzie." He said cheerfully.
leaving Suzie shocked.
" Ah yes."She said coming to her senses.
" I cancelled all your surgeries in the neurological department for the time being like you told me to and left only those in the Aphthalmology department. With that being said you have a Laser - assisted in situ keratomileusis ( LASIK) surgery.
" Good...What time?"
" I know you hate last minute surgeries but I was calling your phone but didn't get an answer." Suzie said nervously.
Thanos stopped walked to the dismay of Suzie.
" What time is it Suzie?"
" You have less than fifteen minutes."
" I can work with that."he said smiling and walked off leaving Suzie dumbfounded.
Exactly twelve minutes later, Thanos was in the operating room excited and happy.
Like it was his first surgery.
His patient was a twenty seven year old woman scheduled for her Refractive surgery to treat Myopia (nearsightedness), which was done by reshaping her cornea, removing the cornea stroma to enable light entering the eye to be properly focused onto the Retina for clearer vision.
Dr Thanos used an eye drop to numb the eye to prevent any discomfort during the procedure, with the eye positioned under the laser, he used a speculum to keep the eyelids wide open.
Marking the cornea with ink, a suction ring was applied to prevent movements.
He then created a very thin, superficial flap in the cornea with his femtosecond laser. Dr Thanos folded back the hinged flap to access the stroma and started removing tissue using an excimer laser. After the laser ablation, He laid back the flap in place, covering the place the cornea was removed.
Fifteen minutes later he was out.
Walking to his office, he thought.
" What should I buy for Sam?" with a huge grin and spackle in his eyes.

Samantha lay on her couch in the bedroom, wearing a pair of loose bumshorts and a loose crop top. Today she was feeling a little fatigued, with a sore throat.
Lisa burged into the room.
" Come eat something, you look horrible."
" I know, I feel horrible too."
" Let's go see a doctor." Lisa worriedly told her.
" These are disease you get laughed at in the army, when you see a doctor about them."
" Sam, you are not in the army anymore."
" Yeah, am not am I?"
" I'll eat some other time Lisa"
" Ok, Let me know when you want
something."
It was an hour later when Lisa came into Samantha's room again, she was now sleeping on her bed.
" Look who came to see you Sam."She said waking the sleepy Samantha.
" Who, who Lisa." Samantha said still sleeping.
" It's your cra..., It's your husband."
" you are funny Ma'am." Thanos told Lisa.
He had a small cage with a puppy in it.
" Ma'am?? buddy an older than you with just two years... Ma'am??You gat to be shitting me."
Thanos smirked at Lisa.
" You are still older than me, Ma'am is in order."
Lisa raised her middle finger with raising both of his.
When Samantha woke up to face both of them, her sky blue coloured pillow was covered in blood.
" Sam you had a nose bleed..."
Lisa quickly went to her bathroom and got a towel, wetting it, she went and cleaned Samantha's nose.
" Are you ok?" Thanos asked her, but didn't get a reply.
" This is the second one to day Sam." Lisa told her going back to the bathroom.
" Am fine Lisa." She said getting out of bed, before she weakly feel in Thanos' arms.
" He laid her back on the bed and hurriedly went to the car and got Dr Nigel's medical kit bag.
Getting his flash light, he shined it into Samantha's eyes, the pupil constricted.
" Is she ok?" Lisa asked worried.
Thanos shining the flashlight in Samantha's mouth replied.
" Her lymph nodes are swollen."
" Is it serious?"
" not really."
Then his eyes took him to Samantha's thighs that had purple - reddish bruises, her arms too.
" She falls most of the time because she doesn't want help and ended up with these bruise."
Dr Thanos inspected the bruised and a flush of worry entered his eyes.
" We need to take her to the hospital." He said carring Samantha.
