As Alex was waiting for the tournament to start he found a pamphlet about the participants and their Beyblades and as he looks through it he found the fat guy and his Beyblade.
The fat guy's name was Jake Dodge and his Beyblade Green Hippo were in last year's top 20 but from the pamphlet information, he should make it to the top 15 this year if nothing goes wrong but seeing how his Beyblade cursed Jake Green Hippo he might not make it to the top 20 like last year.
As Alex was looking at the pamphlet people started to sit next to him and one of the people who sat beside him was a girl near his age who happened to see his battle against Jake.
The girl seeing that she sat next to the Beyblader that won against Jake Dodge she chooses to start a conversation as the tournament hasn't started yet and the girl next to her was just looking at the pamphlet that on everyone seats.
"Hi, I'm Anny." Anny
Hearing a voice that came next to him Alex move his head to look at a cute girl with brown hair in a side ponytail with green eyes that was sitting next to him.
Seeing that she was waiting for a response Alex greeted her with a smile to not seem rude.
"Hello, I'm Alex." Alex
Seeing the girl next to her responded to her with a smile Anny smiled back before continuing the conversation.
"So Alex I saw your battle earlier and you did great battling against Jake's Green Hippo." Anny
"Haha, thanks but I didn't do anything to be praise for as my Beyblade did all the work." Alex
"Oh, don't be modest. I'm sure you work really hard or else how can your Beyblade know more than one move especially your Beyblade final move it looked so cool and powerful!" Anny
Hearing the little girl praise him, Alex, felt embarrassed as he really did nothing but for Anny who was looking at Alex embarrassed face, she took it as shyness so she chose to keep talking to Alex as she felt that making friends with Alex wouldn't be a bad thing despite just meeting him.
"So, Alex, why haven't you, joined the tournament? I don't mean to pry into your manners but it seems to be a pity for you not to show off your skills." Anny
"Oh that I just came into town and I didn't know a tournament was being held today so I probably missed the sign-ups already." Alex
Hearing Alex reply Anny felt a bit of pity that Alex couldn't have arrived a day earlier but she didn't put too much thought on it as it was pointless to think about that what if.
As the two were talking the lights in the stadium suddenly turn off until four lights turn on and move all over the place until they all stopped when they hit the announcer area where an old man sat along with a beautiful woman that has similar features that of Anny smiling to everyone looking at her.
Once the lights stopped the woman announcer started to talk once all the attention was on her.
"Good evening everyone and welcome to Spinal Town 85th Yearly Beyblade Tournament! I'm your main announcer Rebecca Now before we start we have some few words from town mayor and my co-announcer, Mayor Michael, if you please." Rebecca
After the woman announcer said her short greeting the old man next her stood up before he opened his mouth to speak.
"Hello everyone I know none of you wants to hear a long-winded speech from this old man so I will say two things to today's participants try your best and give us a fantastic show!" Mayor Michael
After the mayor said what he wanted about 100 people to walk out to the field and head for Battle Dome before 1v1 start taking place in them.
The first and second round of the tournament is done in batches to knock out 75% of the participants then it moves on to a battle royal consistent of 5 participants before the last 5 participants are left then the tournament goes back to the 1v1 format and have the last participants battle each other until they are placed to there respect ranking.
As the battles begin the woman announcer Rebecca and Mayor Michael voices once more can be heard as they endorsed certain matches at times as live feeds of the battles are shown on giant flat-screen TVs that are located around the stadium.
As Alex was talking with Anny he saw Jake battling a girl who looks identical to Anny at one of the Battle Dome and being curious he asks about her to Anny.
"Anny is that girl over there your twin?" Alex
Hearing Alex's question and seeing where he was looking at Anny nodded her head before she replied to his question.
"Yes, that's my twin sister Emma. She was in last year's tournament top 5 participants and this year she's hoping to be first with her Flame Unicorn. I came today to cheer her on." Anny
After she said her piece about her sister she then just focus on her match as she cheers her on.
At the Battle Dome where Anny's sister Emma was battling against Jake, you can see a red and green Beyblades clashing against each other as their owners are talking to one and another.
"Oh, poor Jake you are really unlucky today, two losses in a row and to girls at that. Where is that proud peacock that was bragging about making it to the top something this year? You know what I will make this battle quick and hopefully, I won't damage whatever pride you have left." Emma
Hearing Emma's trash talk Jake was furious as another bitch wasn't giving him any respect and dared to mock him so, in anger, he started to order Beyblade to attack.
"Green Hippo show them what we got Hippo Bite!!" Jake
After ordering his Beyblade it released its ethereal form to make an attack but compared to last time when the ethereal green hippo appeared it now appears the hippo is wrapped in cloth like a mummy become a green hippo mummy.
Once the ethereal form has fully appeared the hippo tried to open its mouth but couldn't as it was wrapped by cloth stopping it from using it move.
Seeing his Beyblade in such a state Jake was shocked as he remembers the last battle he had and the final move his opponent used, it now seems like it did more than just stopping his Beyblade from spinning.
Emma seeing her opponents momentarily stunned state she took the opportunity by giving her Beyblade an attack order quickly before Jake recovered from his shock state.
"Go Flame Unicorn use Flaming Charge!" Emma
After Emma gave her command her Beyblade sent got its own ethereal form of a unicorn made out of red flames and with a stomp of its hoofs it started to push back the green hippo mummy until it was sent out of the Battle Dome.
Once the green hippo mummy left the Battle Dome it turned back to a normal Beyblade and stopped spinning as it has lost the battle.
Seeing that Jake's Beyblade stop the referee that was assigned to there Battle Dome announced Emma as the winner.
Once she was announced as the winner Emma left back to the waiting room as for Jake he seemed to fall on the ground unconscious after a bit.
Alex who was watching the battle felt confused with Jake's last actions as losing a Beyblade Battle shouldn't cause someone to fall unconscious normally but his system gave off a notice to explain what just happened to him.
*Beep* Solar Horn Fox Curse: A curse made possible by the use of solar energy to radiated a Beyblade a certain way to causes the Beyblade to stop spinning and mutate the Spirit of the Beyblade. Mutated Spirits of Beyblades can carry one to three curses that can affect their owner if they lose a battle while using them.
Jake Dodge is being affected by one of Solar Horn Fox Curse curses the Sleepy Fox Curse that makes the owner of the curse Beyblade fall unconscious for a day.
The two other curses are the Solar Eclipse Curse that makes the owner of the curse Beyblade blind for a day and Burning Horn Curse that makes the owner of the curse Beyblade sick for a day. *Beep*
Hearing the system Alex felt bad for cursing Jake to fall unconscious but then he remembered that Jake was a jerk and it's not like he can't get another Beyblade to replace his old one so he should be fine in the long run.
After clearing his head of any guilt he may have for causing Jake's condition, Alex went back to talking Anny until she asks him a surprising question.
"Hey, Alex there's a lot of time left until the second round starts want to go meet my sister? I want to congratulate her for her first win." Anny
Hearing her questions Alex nodded his head in approval before they both got up and left to go meet Anny's sister Emma.
