章 25: Advent of the devil - part 4: A dream. A Qilin. A devil.

Ryuk while inside the cocoon had a dream or maybe a mental battle. In the dream he was standing in a large lvalley and was surrounded by four large mansions. On top of each mansion stood a domineering statue. On the north there was a black and ancient looking tortoise with a long and scary black snake as its tail with water kneeling before the magnificence of the tortoise. The tortoise bore a similar appearance to the rank 2 sinking turtle, but it was only a mild similarity as The beast on the mansion looked like a god looking down upon the heavens and earth. On the east there was a blue dragon which had bolts of lighting running all along its body, but the lightning was a pure incomparable dark gold color, but the dragons mighty scales and horns seemed even more elegant and domineering with their wooden exuberance than the lightning it used, furthermore in its eyes there was a desire a carnal desire for knowledge and power. On the west mansion there was a white tiger reaching for the sky. The tiger built stairs to the sky made from the purest and hardest metal. With the tigers one paw up i looked like it wished to bring the sky down. On the south mansion a being of indescribable beauty colored in red called upon the embers of beginning to make it seem even more dazzling it seemed as if even the first most mighty flame existed simply to add onto the beauty of the red bird. When Ryuk looked down at the mansions he saw millions of lesser beings of the mighty beast kneeling before their respective statue. Ryuk then felt red crazed eyes staring at him. Those lesser beings looked at Ryuk with a hatred, a disgust, a revolt. Ryuk then saw that in front of him a golden statue drew itself out of the ground.

At the center of the four mansions a incomparable figure stood. When compared to the 4 beasts it seemed complex and content. It was a golden Qilin that represent the center of the universe. Ryuk looked at the Qilins eyes and fell into a trance. It saw the Qilin swimming above through clouds and through the lakes the swift motion made Ryuk release his jaw, the speed wasnt just unbelievable it was untamable. Ryuk hadn't any real movement techniques except for the ones he got from the animals he observed, but he felt that even if he mastered the most mighty movement skill in the universe it would still fall short in someway to the one the Qilin used. The Qilin had a kind smile and it would occasionally communicate with nature. The trees and weeds around it would communicate their thanks and reverence towards the qilin. Ryuk memorized the movements of the Qilin deep in his heart and even though he didnt have a great memory for some reason those movements were carved into his mind. Then he saw the Qilin step on a barren land and step on a mountain as tall as the sky and split it. Inside the mountain there were bones of children, men and women and beasts. There was also a human man raping a dead woman. The Qilin was furious it called upon the earthly forces and struck the man through 100 hells of pain and torture and finally destroyed his soul. This was a mental technique calling upon the earthly forces. Similarity Ryuk felt this technique implant itself in his head. Ryuk felt uncontrollable rage for the man and indescribable sympathy for the dead. Ryuk was confused he was never a good person so why did he wish to be so heroic. Ryuk then saw the Qilin release a golden flame and burn the bones to dust and then let out a single tear that filled the desert land with seas. Ryuk then saw a final image the Qilin was being hunted by 16 divine beasts and 16 saints. Ryuk didnt know what saints were nor did he know what divine beasts were, but he somehow had a clear and obscure meaning behind them. The Qilin was as fast as light and couldnt be stopped, but the pursuers used a hostage to stop it. The Qilin due to its kind nature stopped and allowed them to kill it for the hostage. The Qilin was removed of its scales and its single beautiful horn. Ryuk felt rage boil over him he wished to slaughter everything such a kind beast was killed for cultivation? Wealth? Fame? How despicable. The Qilin sensing this looked at Ryuk with its hollow eyes and smiled. Ryuk felt his anger wash away and all that was left with a newfound respect for life, but also a decisive distrust towards any life and his bloodlust towards his enemies. In Ryuks black eyes a brilliant spark began to flicker shining the world around him. Ryuk took in a deep breath and he found himself back in the middle of the four mansions which were now missing their statue. Crash! A crater filled with a white colored bloodthirsty beast appeared near Ryuk causing all of Ryuks muscles to contract in fear, then an intense heat from his back his skin began to caramelize. A powerful ring of energy and vitality struck Ryuk causing his insides to churn and a final feeling of every cell and organ rejecting him. Ryuk looked around and looking right back at him with steady disgust filled eyes were four breathing gigantic beasts. Ryuk felt his heart shake in fear like a puppy and his bladder become loose, but his soul stood straight like a tree uncaring of what it was facing.

Ryuk felt a cold feeling biting at him in his psyche. He threw his body high up and below him a large lava lake was made. Ryuk felt the scalding temperature even though he was a fair distance away from it, but before Ryuk could move further two figure surrounded him seemingly appearing right out of the void. A hooked claw and the maws of a tiger right next to him. Ryuk dropped right down like a ragdoll. Ryuk then saw a snake head speed at him like a bullet and pushed down with both hands and feet. Ryuk was twisting in the air when a barrage of fire bullets flew at him. Ryuk tried to forcefully fall faster, but it didnt help.

Splash! Ryuk was slapped with a thick and inexhaustible fire. His skin and muscles burnt and then even his bone marrow. Ryuk was left as a random husk of ash, with him suffering every single burn feeling every single cell die away. It was torture worse than he ever felt before worse than what almost anyone has felt, but Ryuk didnt die. "Huh? Why... Why am i still alive? My bodies gone, but im still alive? Wait this isnt real life! Im in a dream or a trance of some kind. I cant die unless my soul crumbles im everlasting in here." With a thought a new mound of flesh was born and then it grew and grew and grew. Finally a new powerful body appeared with Ryuk right at the helm. Ryuk then focused and suddenly the previous ground where him and the four beasts fought became a pool of mud. The four beasts fell in and began to sink their twist and turning caused clumps of mud to fall everywhere. Their loud roars echoed in this dreamscape their flames and powers colored the blank white sky. Ryuk then jumped up and his bone and skin called his hand began to dance around like many worms. A large spike presented itself majestically from Ryuks stump Ryuk spun himself like a wheel trying to gain momentum. Plop. A tiger head fell. "Hmph. Even a blunt weapon can be deadly." Ryuk recited a chant he had commonly heard the hunters of his village say. The other beasts were silent for a moment in sheer shock. Their disbelief and fear almost tangible.

Outside Ryuk began to thump rhythmically like a heart. sweat drops appeared all over his face and he clenched his teeth. His hand began to mutate the sounds of bones cracking all over from his fingers to his collarbone snapping like twigs again and again. His skin and muscles expanded and contracted again and again. Finally something that could strike fear into men was created. A devil.
