Blade was shocked alright but above that, he was left stunned by what Aubrey had said.

"You want this, yes. But before that, I needed to know the reason why you did what you did."

"I already told you."

"And I believe you. You are the right person to best help me help my family repay its debt. Here is the key that would free her." Aubrey handed over the key to him and then before she retracted her hand from his, she gripped his wrist tight and stared him deep in the eyes. 

"You must not fail, Blade. Please. Also let her know our debt has been repaid. I would leave the doors open and ensure no guards are in the vicinity till you return the key."

"Thank you."

"I am not doing this for you but for her and for my father."

"Still, thanks."

"Make sure she escapes please or all of this would be for naught."

"You do not have to worry. Astrid is strong."
