章 28: It was His Friend

Su Xiqin was injured partly because of Mo Xigu, and it could be said that Su Xiqin took on Mo Jinghan's rage for Mo Xigu. Therefore, after Mo Xigu had paid the treatment cost, he went into Su Xiqin's ward.
Su Xiqin laid on the bed alone in the ward, and Mo Jintian was beside her, staring at her pale face with his dark round eyes as his upper body laid prone on the bed.
To be honest, seeing Mo Jintian always reminded Mo Xigu of the shame that Su Xiqin had brought upon him, and his hatred towards the kid would increase.
Maybe it was his strong glare that made Mo Jintian look up towards the direction of the door, and his eyes met Mo Xigu's. Mo Xigu's eyes were filled with hatred, and kids were always sensitive as they knew immediately if someone liked them or not; Jintian could see the dislike in Mo Xigu's eyes.
Mo Xigu has treated him indifferently or carelessly since the beginning, but now there was hatred in his eyes. Mo Jintian smacked his lips and turned to look away angrily.
Mo Xigu sneered at Mo Jintian's attitude, and with that sneer he stepped inside the room. He felt as if a century had passed when he saw Su Xiqin lying on the hospital bed quietly.
It felt like deja vu because something similar had happened before where he watched her lay there quietly and beautifully; that was back when he wanted to date her.
They often hung out in the backyard garden where he would sit on the lawn and she would lay down with her eyes closed, her head on his knees, and her silk-like black hair spreaded out on the ground.
The afternoon sunlight pierced through layers of dense leaves and scattered upon Su Xiqin's black hair and fair face, but there was a magnolia leaf covering her face.
He would sit on the lawn with both hands supporting his body behind his back and stare at her sleeping face.
It was just like this where she had her eyes quietly closed, except that she looked much paler right now compared to before. Mo Xigu suddenly became absentminded as he stared at Su Xiqin.
Ever since they got married, there was only hatred between them, and they were not able to treat each other peacefully like before.
Especially that there was Mo Jintian in between them, and they could never return back to before. Su Xiqin was actually more cruel than anyone, so cruel that she gave birth to another man's child; this was worse than him sleeping with Si Xixue.
He stood in the ward for a few minutes and left after he couldn't stay any longer. He walked out of the hospital and bumped into Su Xixue who just got off the car, and he stared at the happy-looking Su Xixue with a gloomy expression.
Tang Xi rushed to the hospital after receiving Little Milk Bun's call, and she swore hard at Mo Xigu and his ancestors when she saw there was only Mo Jintian in the ward.
"How could the Mo's be so ruthless, leaving only a five-year-old kid here, and no one else to take care of Su Xiqin?"
"Aunt Xi, Grandpa called Aunt Grandma over, but she just left," Mo Jintian said upsettingly.
Even though that was the case, Tang Xi was still mad as she grabbed and asked Mo Jintian about what had happened.
Su Xiqin woke up around 1 PM in the afternoon, and the first person she saw when she opened her eyes was Tang Xi, while Mo Jintian was sleeping on another bed beside her.
"You awake?" Tang Xi asked.
"Yeah."
"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"I'm fine," said Su Xiqin. Her voice sounded a bit hoarse because she hadn't had water for a long time.
"Xixi, pass me a cup of water please."
Tang Xi quickly poured a cup of water while Su Xiqin supported herself up from the bed.
After she drank the water, she looked at Mo Jintian's sleeping face and said, "The little guy must've been scared."
She remembered that before she fainted, she heard him call her "Mama" in panic. He rarely called her that and only did so when he felt scared.
"He sure was. His eyes were swollen when I came." Tang Xi brought over a chair and sat down in front of her.
Su Xiqin seemed sorry when she looked at Little Milk Bun, while Tang Xi couldn't hold her anger on behalf of Su Xiqin. "The Mo Family and you just don't match. How did you even get hit like that without doing anything? I bet you'll win five million if you buy a Two-Color Ball lottery ticket."
Su Xiqin didn't say much, instead changing the topic. "Is there any food? I'm hungry."

Mo Jintian woke up and cheered when he saw that Su Xiqin was awake, and he slipped off the bed and got onto the ground to stand in front of her.
"Susu, you woke up."
Su Xiqin felt sorry as she stared at her son who was trying to be mature, but she still smiled.
"Yeah, you must've been scared!"
"As long as you're fine." Mo Jintian smiled, making his swollen eyes more obvious.
Su Xiqin touched his cheeks and said, "Mom's fine, and we can leave the hospital in the afternoon."
"No, you must stay for another day," said Tang Xi when she happened to walk in and overheard the conversation, stopping her in her tracks.
"Yes, Susu, you must stay in the hospital." Mo Jintian blinked his big eyes.
Su Xiqin furrowed her brows, staring at the alliance between her friend and her son. Only her forehead was hit, and it wasn't a big deal; she felt like she didn't have to stay another day in the hospital because the faint was just caused by the pain as well.
"Two on one, majority wins," said Tang Xi as she high fived Mo Jintian.
Su Xiqin gave up trying to convince them. The nurse came a little past 2 PM. After the nurse had finished the check-up, Mo Jintian stuck out his head to look at the results as the nurse recorded the data on the side.
"Pretty sister, will my mama be alright?" [TL Note: It is normal to call people brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunts in China as a polite gesture.]
The nurse glanced over and smiled when she saw Little Milk Bun with his bright teeth and pink lips.
"Your mama will be fine."
"Thank you!" Mo Jintian said to the nurse sweetly.
The nurse smiled back at Mo Jintian and said, "You're such a cute boy."
Then,she turned around to Su Xiqin and said, "You son's very sensible."
Su Xiqin looked at her son and smiled. Then, she suddenly thought of a question.
"Ms. Nurse, if I'm fine, then I can leave by this afternoon, right?" she asked.
"That you will have to ask Doctor Xing. I suggest that you stay for the night and leave tomorrow." The nurse packed up after she finished recording as she prepared to leave.
"Doctor Xing?" Su Xiqin asked.
"Yes, Doctor Xing Chensheng. You were very lucky to have Doctor Xing for the size of your small injury; a lot of people can't get this chance even if they want to."
The nurse walked towards the door as she finished.
Su Xiqin was a bit lost because she had heard of Xing Chensheng before; she just didn't think she would be lucky enough to have him as her doctor.
"Susu, is Doctor Xing really good?" Mo Jintian had his head down as if he was thinking about something.
Su Xiqin nodded. "That Doctor Xing is Uncle's friend, and he asked him to come over," Mo Jingtian said.
"Which uncle?'" Su Xiqin asked.
"The uncle whose shoes I spilled my drink on!" Mo Jintian explained happily with his big eyes blinking.
Mo Jintian was feeling very grateful to Bai Yansen. If he didn't ask for his friend to come over, who knows when Susu would wake up.
Su Xiqin was stunned and suddenly thought of something as she asked her son, "You found him and told him about this?"
