"Thank you, my lady. Though I have to mention here that I wasn't really expecting you to come tonight…"

From his tone alone I could tell that he wasn't really expecting me to come. I didn't know whether to make something good out of his surprised state, or take his shock with a grain of salt. 

"If that's the case, I shall take my leave then." Shrugging it off, I turned to my right. Though I was only pretending to leave, I tried my best to make my actions look believable to him with a small sad smile. The bitter expressions of my face were only there to hide my insincerity regarding the matter.

"W-what? Wait! No!" 

Before my mind could process his words, I felt his fingers brushing against my shoulders as he raised his hands to grab them.
