章 24: Chapter 24
He had fallen asleep after the conversation with Syren. Waking up he finds the fact that the vixens had moved to claiming areas on his body, their heads buried deep into his side. Azure and Lapis were right near his head, Nadia was a little lower on his body. It made for a interesting wake up, Azure and Lapis were mostly solid, with their tails mostly liquid.
Nadia, however, was still fully solid, but with just a thin membrane, almost like the slimes from video games. He pokes his back leg through her side, trying to encourage her to get up off him to let him have the chance to get up.
He feels a little shift in response, turning into a semiliquid to wrap around his chest. He shakes a little as the liquid seems to solidify, almost as if he had been wrapped in by her. It almost felt like he was being cloaked by her body something starts warmly flow between the two of them. His energy was filling her up in a cycle. The fact he was gaining some of her aspected energy, he could feel himself slowly losing his own, and not getting a huge return. But he could tell, unlike the earth energy, he could personally use it.
It was a different feeling to know that he had something that he could personally use as a weapon. He shakes his head a little, knowing that he had been making her stronger by his energy. It does make him want to encourage the girl's to do the same.
"Azure and Lapis, are you going to be able to do the same as your momma?" He says this, it seemed to get the girls to stir a little in her body, and moving to get to warmer spots on his body, even though he could try and force those two off. He takes his time and stands up for a moment., the pair fall off him, and wind up curling into each other, Nadia shifts along his body, it almost feels like she is trying to conform to his whole.
He shakes his head a little at this, "Not letting me go?" He asks to the little leech that is currently residing in his body. He moves towards his mother, stretching his body, happy that he does not feel the pain that he had the previous day.
He takes his time stretching and feels his body was weighed down, just enough to have himself get comfortable. He sighs, feeling like his body wasn't tired really, just the constant drain from the vixen, he was tempted to believe she was a succubus. The fact that it was only a constant pull, but slow enough to manage, let him ignore her attempts.
He could actually feel her smile when he thought of her like a succubus, the shifting water blanket of her over his body, seemed to be happy with that. Syren seems to look amused at the fact her son is being weighed down. Looking at him for a moment, "Usually, it's the other way around. I mean, I don't want to find out that you have no clue about mating."
He shudders a little, not wanting to talk to his mother about mating again. Sighing a little to himself, he nods towards her, "I know that I am going to, just don't, you know, teach me how to climb on." He points out towards the woman.
Syren shakes her head, "My species likes to make sure that everyone knows each other a bit more." She says with a little chuckle and moves towards the pair. She moves forward and press against Nadia, she was curious to as to what was happening with the vixen herself.
Nadia was seeming to have a bit of relaxation aspect, almost as if she was asleep. His mother tries something else, licking the watery vixen. It finally seems to wake up the sleeping vixen who sloughs herself off. Falling from his body and towards his feet, starting to shift back into her own form, in a bit larger size, like she had grown up at least a paw larger, making her get larger toward his own size.
It was a great shift in her body, she lets out a little whimper, but is able to stand. It is impressive that she was able to get so much larger so quickly with just the exchange it seems. He stretches his body out again. He smiles and presses his nose against his mother's forehead.
He notices something that causes both his mother and Nadia to perk up. It was a faint sound, but it was rustling, like something was coming towards him. Syren's head whips to face towards where she can tell more is happening. HIs mother shakes her head, "We should be moving, Seems like something is happening." She says and moves towards the little cubs that are sleeping still.
She gives the girl's a lick to wake them and making them start to move. Their mother starts to urge them along, having the same ideas as his own. Her slightly larger body did surprise the little ones. He chuckled a little and moves to grab's Azure, while Lapis is grabbed by Nadia. They don't seem to have any issues with being picked up, pretty much happier about being carried, planning to still keep to sleeping.
Syren was the one to start with leading them, an animal had decided to come through the clearing, running at full speed, not looking back, or deciding to watch where he was going. It was soon followed by other's of it's kind, their speed was so fast that all he could tell was they had tails and four legs.
Syren turns them away, an almost indescribable sense of blood was going to roll over them. It wasn't just a sixth sense, but the sound of crashing animals, the iron tang of blood, something seemed to try pressing down on him. It didn't even feel like the focus was on them, but whatever was causing the change wasn't going to let opportunities go.
Soon he could tell what was hunting, his mother urging him on, clear sounds of communication, not the mind speak that they partake in. This causes him more worries then an unknown animal. He keeps his ears up, trying to figure, out what was being said.
Syren keeps close to him as they move silently, barely able to hear some indiscriminate conversation. They definitely weren't being quiet, and weren't exactly closing in, They seemed to have decided to go up the mountain, and they decided to have their path be near the pack's den.
He was soon to point out that where they came from would be safer then running around. Syren decided, after looking at him for a moment, figures that he knew what she had meant.
Glimpses through some trees, he could see animals trying to go through the same direction, some had even run close to them, causing them to slam against them. There was one that had actually had stopped directly in front of him, he could vaguely tell it had been separated from it's herd, and was looking for anyone to protect it.
What stood before him, was a deer, with some sort of light breaking around it. Amazing him at the fact that these nimble creatures seemed to be the most likely ones to get some sort of magic. It seemed to have a shadow trying to wrap around it, like there was a cloak that didn't want to fall off.
He quickly claimed the deer, the cloak, unlike what he had thought, wasn't a part of the buck, it moved to form over his back. It didn't have a mind to it, just wanting to flow to warmth. While it was interesting, he didn't want to start an investigation until he knew he was safe.
Syren's lead brought them through the trees, looking at a cleared path. It was sized enough for wagons to move through, if his past was right, the ground wasn't worked for it, it made more obvious these human's had decided to move to the mountains for something.
Syren was best to assure them, no one was around, and that they should be able to find something safe. They decide to move a few hundred lengths away. Not wanting to be to close, but just enough to use that movement as a way to keep themselves safer to decide the next day what they might want to do.
They curl up under a large tree with deep shadows, which causes the cloak actually seem to expand, causing a sort of drop into it, making them feel like a coldness had wrapped around them, but there was a safe spot, and they could sleep without any problems, causing them to just ignore the sort of fortuitous occurrence having found that scared deer.
