章 192: Why Now?

Alvin, who was busy working on the documents Melanie had been unable to finish the previous day, stood up to stretch when he checked the time and saw that it was past seven in the morning already. He couldn't believe he had stayed up all night sorting through her documents. 

"Things we do for love," He said to himself with a grin as he thought of how relieved she would feel when he breaks the news to her that he was done sorting through her documents. He was looking forward to hearing from her later in the day. She had been gone for only some hours, and the house seemed empty without her already.

He walked over to his bedside drawer to pick up his phone when it started ringing. He knew only his personal assistant could call him at that time of the day since he knew Melanie was yet to arrive at her destination.

"Yeah?" He asked immediately after he took the call. 

"We lost him. Brad, I mean," His personal assistant explained apologetically.
