章 1: The Kiss That Started It All

In a rundown apartment of the darkest side of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dante Dumain huddles in a damp corner with tears in his eyes as he recalls the mistake he made. Kissing his best friend, and losing them forever. The thing is, the kiss didn't kill his best friend. No in fact it killed HIM; Dante died. And now we find him alone huddled in a dank and damp corner of a rundown apartment. This is his story, of the rise to the top of the world from the bottom rungs of society. So it begins.

Where am I? Where is Kevin? Last thing I remember is confessing my feelings to him and kissing him and then, darkness. Don't tell me I was kidnapped! Or did Kevin fly into a rage and knock me out and have somebody dump me some where? No that can't be right, I'm remembering something... My name is still Dante Dumain, but the world I'm in is an alternate universe's Earth. It's a world of the supernatural and scifi. And I happen to be the son of a whore who passed away a few days ago. I'm also only 16 years old. With nowhere to go, the previous owner of my body holed up in an abandoned apartment and waited to die. He gave up? How very sad. However, I'm just as sad myself. Kevin isn't in this world with me. My shot with him has vanished. It turns out the previous owner of this body had a unique special power. Whoever he kissed, he could copy the power of the person who he kissed. However, even though he knew how to use the power, he never had any opportunities to use it. Not to say he wasn't attractive. I got a look at myself in the bathroom mirror, and I'm a totally beautiful man. I am so beautiful that I could even pass for a woman. Wow, so that's why he had such a hard time getting a girlfriend. Only guys wanted him and he was only into girls. This is the perfect body for me, who is into men! I'm the perfect trap! However, I have no intention on fooling any straight men into kissing me unless circumstances lead me to do so otherwise.

One kiss and a new power gained, and they don't overwrite each other, they just keep piling up. This is a cheat power! With this I can rise to the top in this world, as long as I am careful. I must be wise with the use of this power. I must investigate my targets carefully and be sure of their powers before kissing them. I'm totally going to be shameless in this life and steal the first kiss of many boys my age and even older! Who knows, maybe there is a guy out there who has immortality as their superpower?
