章 275: I won't run away again
He had blocked her! Si Xia had blocked her!! Chen threw away her phone and slumped on the sofa.
This was the position in which Xi Hua found Chen when she returned back to the living room. Yu Chen, who had been staring at nothing, looked up, "Hey, Zenghai gone?"
"Yeah." Xi Hua replied, a little unsure about what to do. She had expected Chen to try and call Xia, and was a lot surprised when she did not.
Before Hua could decide what to say, Yu Chen spoke up, "Won't you head to bed? Don't you have work in the morning too?"
Xi Hua casually replied as she sat down, "Nah. I've got night shift from tomorrow. Honestly, it's a wonder I'm able to keep my eyes open during the night shifts. I'm so sleepy!!"
Chen nodded and the two girls sunk in silence.
Each knew what the other was trying to do. Yu Chen, trying to sneak out again, and Xi Hua, stopping her.
They opened the T.V. and put on something none of them watched.
After an hour, Chen yawned and stood up. She said, "I'm gonna tuck in. What about you?"
Xi Hua replied, "I think I'll finish this episode."
Chen nodded and headed towards her room.
Once in, she made sure to change into a pair of shorts and tees as noisily as possible, and then let out a very noisy yawn as she slumped onto bed.
Sure enough, Hua's voice came from outside a few minutes later, "Chen? Chen!?"
Yu Chen then heard the door open and Hua's soft footsteps.
The footsteps stopped a few metres away from her and Hua called out again.
She even lifted the covers to make sure Chen really was asleep and not dressed to sneak out, before she went out.
As Yu Chen lay in bed and heard Xi Hua moving about in the next room, silent tears began to fall out. What could she do? What should she do?
Chen's mind was in a mess but if she was sure of something, it was that running away was not an option. Like last time, she could not run away again. She would not run away again. Ni Yang had been right. She was already luckier than many people, she already had gotten a second chance at life.
She could not waste this.
As Chen lay with her thoughts, she came to a decision.
She decided that she would not pay heed to anything else. Even if Xia told her he had slept with that woman, she would fight.
She would fight until he himself said that he did not want her. That was when she would go away. Away somewhere. The world was a big place. Away from Xia's life. But only if he himself said he did not want her. That was the only condition.
By the time dawn came, Chen's mind was made up. She got up, and had to sit back down again. She was feeling a bit dizzy.
No. Chen shook her head. Even Satan himself would not be able to stop her from seeing Xia today. Today and everyday until he talked to her.
She silently dressed in the warmest clothes Chen found. She knew she would be waiting outside his house and would not like if she froze before he came out.
