章 212: We will all live together
As Yu Chen stood there looking at the abandoned cottage, her phone buzzed.
Chen's trance was broken and she walked out of the yard looking at her phone.
There was a message from Si Xia, 'I've sent someone. He should be there in about two hours.'
Yu Chen replied with a smiley emoji before shaking off the disappointment that was threatening to take over her. "I'll meet him after I go back anyway. So it makes no difference." Yu Chen told herself as she headed back for her home.
After lunch, Yu Chen was packed and sitting in the living room. She messaged Si Xia, 'I'm ready to go.'
Si Xia's reply came, 'Okay. I'll ask him where he is.'
After a while, his message came again, 'The driver is almost there. But you'll have to walk upto the main road. The car cannot come through there.'
Yu Chen again sent him a smiley emoji and stood up to say goodbye to her parents.
As she hugged her mother, Mrs. Yu said, "I don't like this at all. You came back after seven years, and you're going away again."
Yu Chen laughed as she pinched her mother's cheeks, "Don't worry mom. Let me get settled in the city. Then I'll call you both there and we can all live together."
Mrs. Yu mumbled, "I'll rather like that." as Yu Chen also hugged her father, who when opened his mouth to say something, she cut off, "Yes dad. I'll call you once I get back."
Mr. Yu smiled and picked up the luggage, saying, "Come on. I'll walk you."
Yu Chen could sense there was something he wanted to talk about, so she nodded before hugging her mother once more and following him.
Once they were out the main gate, Mr. Yu said, "Say Chen....."
Yu Chen looked at her father, who looked very worried right now.
Mr. Yu continued, "Have you had any contact with Mian?"
Yu Chen sighed as she said, "No. But I came to know that she's still in the city. So once I get back, I'll find her."
Mr. Yu nodded and said, "Tell her to visit, or even call home. Your mother worries."
They walked the rest of the way in silence and very soon came upon the main road.
It took Chen no time to find out the dark brown Ferrari parked on the side of the road. She turned to her father and said, "That's my ride."
Mr. Yu chuckled, "You sure have rich friends."
Yu Chen kissed him on the cheek, "That's because I'll soon be very rich too."
Mr. Yu waved goodbye as Yu Chen rushed upto the familiar car and got into the backseat.
The car drove off and her father disappeared from view. Yu Chen was getting comfortable and had just taken out her headphones when the car slowed down adn came to a stop.
"Huh? Is something wrong?" Yu Chen asked, sounding a little scared.
The driver said nothing as he climbed into the backseat. Yu Chen wanted to rush out of the car, but something in her stopped her and she reached out and removed the driver's cap.
