章 6: Si Xia
Yes. His wife. Yuan Zuan came in. Or as she had changed her name to after marriage, Si Zuan. She came in and smiled at him. That's when Si Xia thought, "She looks nothing like the girl I would have wanted to marry. I just wish I could go back to that day and tell her that I would rather not have any business than marry her."
But he had done it. He had married the one who had betrayed the one he loved. Si Xia sighed thinking of this. But he was not a cruel person, he might not love his wife, he might hate her, but he would never show it. Partly because she was his wife and partly because he did not wish to give his child the awful childhood he had.
So he did it. He smiled back, his usual forced smile, he had not laughed genuinely since that day. And asked her, "Ready? Shall we go?"
Si Zuan: "Yeahh, but you haven't told me how do I look?"
Si Xia glanced at her. Well he could obviously not tell the truth. Though she looked good but was nothing like a person he could love. She had long hair waist length hair, which she had left open, and looked quite unmanageable to Si Xia. She also had applied a lot of make-up and wore a low cut short dress.
Si Xia: "Isn't the dress a bit too short?"
Si Zuan: "Maybe. But I won't be able to wear such dresses soon. My belly would be showing and it would not look good."
Si Xia sighed, forced out a smile and said, "You're right. You look really nice."
And off they went to the party. While in the car, Si Xia couldn't help but remember the day they had met, she looked like a fairy that had been dropped to the earth and was wearing human clothes. He had asked for her help and then found out she was a year junior than him. But she had still offered to help and he had been so shocked to hear her name 'Yu Chen'. Yes, the computer prodigy. The one he imagined would be really arrogant was so down to earth that he couldn't help but fall in love with her.
And then that day. The day Si Xia hated most about his life. That day she looked like a real fairy, with that beautiful blue dress and her hair in a ponytail. He had been so mesmerised that he was considering breking off the deal, losing all the money and asking her to marry him then and there. But out had come Yuan Zuan, with her devilish grin and looking like a pure witch, she had told Yu Chen how they were going to be married and she was invited.
She had looked at him with such pure eyes filled with disbelief that he had physically felt his heart break and shatter into pieces.
And then she ran. She ran away and never came back.
But now, he had come to know that she was working in his company and he had been longing to meet her. So he had asked the finance manager to organise a party, and make her in charge of it. Yes, he was finally going to meet her. Finally..
