章 148: I Know What I'm Doing

"You're right, I don't understand," Eva said softly. "But he's dangerous. Multiple people said so."

Hazel snorted. She had known he was dangerous from the very beginning. It was how he first introduced himself to her.

"I've known that from the first day we met and I still don't care. He's mine. And if you say a word about this to anyone, I don't care if I have to pay a huge penalty fee. I will break the contract and you'll have to find another artist."

Eva went silent after that for a while. She seemed to be mulling over what to say. Eventually she spoke up with downcast eyes. "I wouldn't have told anyone anyway. You're my friend. I'm just worried about you."

Hazel didn't need anyone to worry about her. She had been alone long enough that other people didn't really matter all that much. She was used to being the only one to worry about herself.

"I know what I'm doing," she said crisply. "I'll be perfectly fine. There isn't a need to worry about me."
