章 16: Soul Book
"Concentrate and focus on envisioning the attack let that same energy you take in come out."
Not even two seconds shadow shot water needles at a bullseye with great precision. It had took him all day to understand his fast magic. His master had taught him the way they worked in great detail. Magic that didn't need a lot of mana was easier and faster to cast. Spells that needed larger amounts or more creativity took longer depending on the person and the level they were at. It was close to nighttime as it was getting darker he could feel himself tiring out from all the mana and hard work he did. He wanted to go to his room and forget about everything and fall fast asleep. Although that soul book filled his head last min while a goofy smile formed on his face.
"If you have time to smile then that should mean a couple more hours of solidifying your fast magic attacks is ok."
Shadow looked up with that same goofy smile before saying yes.
"Mhm, you can go home for today. I wouldn't be lying if I thought it would take you till opening day of the school to get a handle of your fast magic. It's actually almost scary the talent you have. Maybe giving you horrible rate of taking in energy was the way the Gods leveled out the playing field. Not to mention your potent magic. Instead of training you till school I'll have you take in energy I need to help a friend."
"Master before you leave was that recording magic real."
"Huh? You remembered that?"
Shadow more than remembered it he remembered the exact look of pride yet hidden fear on his face while he talked to his sister Kera. He remembered even one of the kids in the back picking his nose while all of it went down.
"Yes, I remember it master. It was amazing.
"I have no doubts you can learn it but remember making spells of higher caliber is what it means to truly be a magician."
"Well how do I know what spells I am able to create?"
".... listen to this story first I'm sure it will help with your questions. Alright first there is a dark cave and three mages looking for something. One of the mages made a spell because he was a light magic user which imbued his eyes with light so he could see. Now the other mage was a fire magic user. Through creativity and smart thinking he was able to create virtually the same spell but just not as useful. The last one was a dark magic user who beat both of them by using creativity to be able to see through the darkness by using dark magic. Now there has never been a water, earth, space, etc to be able to make a spell like that. Also saying that it's not entirely impossible either. Do you see what I'm saying?"
"Basically you're saying I'm only limited by my type of magic and creativity master?"
"Yes exactly now I will be taking my leave."
His master had walked off towards hospital section of the kingdom. Shadow made his way to his room. His grin was wild while he kept his thoughts away from his demonic friend.
"I can tell you're happy is it because we'll be taking in lots of energy to get you to at least novice in magic?" Lucifer asked boringly.
"Nope but I might need your help with something in just a little.
Shadow had finally made it to his room and as he looked at the large bed he could already feel it. He then looked towards the demon arts book and headed towards it. He picked it up but nothing happened.
"I see so you want to communicate to the one inside that book but he won't respond. Have you tried to send your mana through the book or better yet from what you are thinking he's looking for someone with dark magic. Just send a little through, if he likes it he'll allow you to use the book. Although that guy is a little bit of a conundrum. I remember him from my days in some scholar. We used to always here of him doing something unfathomable."
Shadow took the book and sent a small amount a dark magic into. Almost immediately a voice spoke in his head.
"You have been accepted. I am Croneus victor. You have most likely heard of me before and my feats of strength. I will tell you now though many have died trying to learn these set of martial arts. They are very taxing to the body and the mind."
"Does that mean it's different martial arts in this book instead of just one?"
"It means exactly that not only that there are a lot more in this book than you think. It's an old artifact where the pages are unlimited. Once you read to the last page one page will disappear while a new one will form. It is not lost all you must do is call for the page back. Why is it so many have died from this book. Just learning one martial art is hard but for mage it my generation who were never worried about strengthening their body because magic existed died from trying to learn from an old age. Just like you I saw the strategy of knowing both martial arts and magic. The others that were successful from learning magic from the book died from another reason. If you do accept this book you must add new and whole martial arts into it that's all that I ask. That being said I created a spell that would allow you to take martial arts from the dead. Of course they would have to be recent."
"You want me to kill to fill this book?!"
"Yes, is that a problem? If so I don't mind going back to sleep."
"Do you mind if they are only evil?"
"No, as long as there martial art is good I have no qualms."
"Then I accept."
