章 42: Training

We were all quiet the entire car ride over. It was going to be my first real time at the trials. All the schools already knew I existed because of my appearances at other trails and I was always there when the king battled an appointment which was rare so I wasn't seen very often, but I had never fought in the trials myself. I was only there for support. Now Sydney was going to try to make it so I could summon my own wind and use it to help me fight and defend myself. I already know how so I did it more quickly then they thought. It's one thing to use it when you know you aren't in danger but completely different when your aware you can get seriously hurt. The Joker stood off to the side, I could see him out of the corner of my eye watching. I could feel his gaze as if it was going through me and I felt like it was trying to cut me in half. I really didn't like him. I had encountered him a few times before around the school and at the trials. He never talked to me even though I tried to introduce myself once and I said hi and tried to be nice and friendly. He just wanted absolutely nothing to do with me and there was always a look of anger or hatred in his eyes, I never knew if it was because of me or Hunter. I had a feeling now though that it might of been both. I mean he's a four year and isn't king or jack or ace, he got out ranked by all of us who are younger than him so it makes sense to not want to live with us or be around us if he could avoid it, but now he seemed more cold and hateful than my previous encounters with him. He seemed different, maybe it was because it is his last week and he's done and won't ever have to come back and therefore Hunter and Logan can place any rules or do anything that will actually effect him, none of us can. I knew my battle was first so I just needed to beat my opponent or at least attempt so I didn't make everyone else seem weak. I didn't want to make everyone look bad so I had to at least try not to get totally destroyed in this match. Although it was clear that if I was in danger Hunter and Miya would call the match to make it end so I wouldn't get hurt badly or hurt at all. I didn't want that though. I practiced with wind but I was also holding back and using this as a warm up. If I didn't hold back very much during the actually fight maybe I'd win. Then we would of won at least one of the three rounds. Although you have to win all 3 or one school has to call it or potentially the king and queen could get brought in on either side. So if I lost then I couldn't fight again and that would mean our king or queen would have to, but if I won and the other team lost a round then there king or queen would come in or the school would call the match and except defeat. I didn't want to be the reason we lost so I was going to fight and do the best I could to help us win, plus this is my first trial battle so I want to do good and to win. I'm also nervous not only about losing but because this is my first trial battle ever and I haven't used my full powers or used them to fight really up until now.
