The next day after the group had rested in a rather luxurious hotel, the house elf Hinky had appeared before them just as they'd finished a 5-star tier breakfast.
Hinky "Guest'es! Master Arch-Mage is ready to meet yous." they say, their bulbous eyes staring intensely at them.
Mathias nods, "Is that so? Then I'd appreciate it if you could show us the way there?" he asks, wishing Nerissa had been able to stick around and help them out a bit more.
Hinky shakes their head, "No needs! Grab!" they say, holding out their hand.
Mathias, Barnock, Jerma, and Lennon shrug and touch the little elves extended limb, all of them disappearing with a *Pop!* before reappearing somewhere unfamiliar.
"You've arrived." mature voice says from the side... The group look over and see a robed man with bright green eyes and black hair looking at them, he sits behind an ornate desk with strange moving-paintings behind him.
Indeed, the room itself was strange too, it was all stone as if they were inside a castle, with stuffed bookshelves decorating the walls. Underneath them was a red rug covered in moving gold inscriptions depicting various magics be used, creatures being defeated, and a view of Ichor being built in a number of seconds.
Mathias touches his face and realises he's got a nose bleed... He looks up at the roof and sees a small red stone illuminating the room, an incredibly dense magical power emanating from it. "W-what is that?"
The man behind the desk smiles, "Ah, so you've noticed it? That's a project I'd only recently completed... It's called the Philosopher's stone. Oh, I'm Harry Potter by the way, a pleasure to meet you all." he says.
Mathias steps forwards to shake his hand but stumbles slightly, eventually leaning against the desk to retain his balance.
Harry "Ah, sorry about that... Didn't think the stone would be affecting you that badly, thought the Ambient Magic of Ichor itself would condition you for it."
Mathias shakes his head, "Ah, no... We've only been since yesterday..." he mutters, he'd thought the town was unnaturally saturated in magic, but assumed it was due to the place it was built, not due to the town that was present... After finding out the existence of such a stone, Mathias had begun to suspect that the ambient magic wasn't natural at all.
Harry nods his head, "That'd explain it." he says, waving his hand at the stone and causing the light emitting from it to dim considerably, allowing Mathias to visibly relax.
Mathias "Such a thing, containing so much power... I don't understand how it's possible." he mutters.
Harry chuckles, "No one understands, that's what's fun about it! It breaks all laws of physics and magic with his presence alone!"
Mathias was about to start picking Harry's mind about magic, but is interrupted by Barnock, "I hate to interrupt, but we're here for a reason..."
Mathias nods, "Ah, yes... Did Asgore tell you the reason of our meeting?" he asks, hoping to get to the point.
Harry "Yes, it was all detailed by the letter he'd sent... You wish to find your friends, right?" Mathis and Barnock nod at his question.
Harry pulls out a strange stick that looked more akin to anal-beads than anything else, "How about we see if your friends are alive first, shall we? Please describe their appearances and personalities please."
They comply and begin telling Harry about Tyrael, he was skeptical at first when they told him Tyrael was the former angel of justice who'd rid himself of his divinity to protect humanity from the demons, the assured him that they'd not lie about something so important. Harry had no choice to believe them due to the ward in his office that prevented lying.
They then went on to describe Leah, the poor country girl who'd had a bad lot in life, barely managing to survive despite all that had been thrown at her. Mathias personally spoke about her kindness and willingness to put others first before herself.
Then... They started describing Adria... And boy did Barnock have much to say about her. By the time Harry was done listening, his vocabulary had been expanded to include various slurs, curses, and insults he'd never heard before. Fortunately, the thing that helped him specify which person he needed information on worked best when strong emotions were included, even if they were negative ones.
Harry nods, "Now, let's start with Tyrael." he says, waving his wand in the air and chanting, "Tyrael, Angel of Justice."
...
A wisp of smoke leaves Harry's wand but nothing else happens, confusing the group.
Mathias "Did the spell work?"
Harry nods, "Indeed, if it didn't then we'd be shown their last moments alive." he says, allowing them to breath a sigh of relief.
Harry moves onto the next person, Leah, again, the wand releases a small wisp of smoke, revealing that she was apparently still alive. He continued with Adria and found that, unfortunately, she too was still among the living.
Mathias "What now? It's good to see they're all alive, but we still need to find them."
Harry nods and waves his wand at the desk, conjuring a map of the Continent containing every road, river, mountain, city, and village on it. He sets his wand down at the top right of it and chants a spell under his breath.
The wand starts spinning, and after a while Harry states "Tyrael, Angel of Justice." which causes it to stop. He conjures a quill and has it draw a straight line across the map in the direction it's pointing. The line travels down from Kaer Morhen/Ichor where they currently are, through Kaedwen, into Aedirn and directly through Vengerberg, continuing down the map, passing Toussaint, and the capital of the former Empire Nilfgaard.
Mathias "Erm... What does this mean?" he asks in confusion, not knowing what it was trying to say.
