After listening to what Edie had to say, Stuart was too emotional. He gazed at her with love in his eyes. He paused, took a deep breath, softened his voice, and asked, "What is it that you want to hear?"
Edie pondered for a second and realized there was nothing she wanted to hear and silently said, "I know how hard it is for you to talk about your feelings. So, I guess there really isn't anything I need to hear from you."
Then Edie decided to talk about something else, and suddenly a deep and charming voice whispered in her ear, "I love you."
"Pardon me?" Edie said, sounding surprised. She was startled by his words. They had gone through so much together, but he'd never said that with so much passion in his voice. The man in front of her was so familiar, handsome, proud, and understanding. Endless tenderness surged in his grave, dark eyes as he looked at her. The reflection of Edie could be plainly seen in his eyes. It was evident that he only had Edie in his heart.
