Nyzzet had always been a cowardly dragon his entire life, this was because he favored comfort above anything else.

His mother, the mother of all Dragons, Tiamat, raised him slightly spoiled, and he only knew comfort for the majority of his first thousand of years of life, even until he became a God, it remained the same.

He closed himself inside of his Divine Realm, desiring to live peacefully… Until Kireina happened, and his life since then has gone downhill very rapidly.

Nyzzet couldn't completely blame Kireina, she was simply doing what she could to survive and protect her family after all.
