It's been exactly one week had passed since the scene of Caius's wrath in their badminton practice. In this past week, Caius already started his training with Adelaide's cousins and for that matter, the two barely talked. Adelaide hasn't forgotten or even mentioned the outburst of Caius to him when they were together, at this moment when they are together the atmosphere around them is awkward.
Meanwhile, Renae is still shaking up and didn't go to their practice every after school for the past one week, even Adelaide feels sorry and guilty for her she knows herself Caius's temper.
Adelaide can't really blame it all to Caius, Renae has her own fault in that situation too. She can't help but sigh helplessly while thinking back, Adelaide knows very well that she can't keep ignoring the fact that Caius needs to control and know his limit when it comes to his temper.
"Del, you alright?" asked Samantha, one of Adelaide 's best friends.
"Yeah, I'm perfectly fine, just thinking something unimportant." Replied Adelaide
"You know if need any advice we're here." Refuted Delila, also one of Adelaide's best friends.
"I know." Adelaide happily responds to her two best friends sitting beside her outside of their school.
It's lunchtime and the three are eating their own lunch at a wooden bench with a table attached to it. Samantha is eating a homemade cook made by her mother, lasagna, for Delila is prepared by herself, teriyaki beef with rice, while for Adelaide is a homemade cooked by Bryan, her favorite spaghetti. The three are enjoying themselves outside with a light and warm breeze brewing around them, laughing merrily with the jokes of Delila and the sarcastic response of Samantha. Adelaide enjoyed every bit of her moments together with her best friends, she just hopes that everybody is here together with them at this moment. She felt greedy but Adelaide understands that the final exam month is nearing and some of her friends have a diploma to take this year so mostly everyone is busy studying and doing necessary things to pass their courses.
Meanwhile, Caius is at the cafeteria with the rest of his gang making loud noises, joking around and some are flirting around or inviting few girls to their table. However, his not really having fun with this situation he is in right now, Fin is trying to hook him up with some random girls and Caius rejected them all.
Truthfully Caius tells himself and wishes that he's with Adelaide right now and not with these mongrels called friends. But with these past few days they barely talked and with his studying and training with her cousins, he barely has enough free time to talk to her properly.
Even in school. They always see each other every morning, every interval between classes when Caius goes to her classroom to pick her up and join in, every after schools when they go home, he had these chances. But he felt perplexed whenever he's around Adelaide like there's some kind of wall between them. And so, he didn't even notice one week has passed, no conversation with Adelaide, only standing beside her, at first Caius felt fine but as the time goes the distance between them grows.
Caius is so tired and drains right now that he can't control this urge to just ran up to her and hugged her so tight. And not let go at all to just stick with her all time. He knows it's wrong because Caius doesn't want to force himself towards Adelaide and he remembers his own responsibilities and where to not cross the line. In his training Ian explained to him the basic of their status and identity, Ian told him that right now all of them are using a part of their true last name, and about their identity is a complicated military family since ancient times. Only those who have power like have a high position in this world and also wealth knows them, anyone can count them in one hand.
