Having eaten and played enough in the mortal realm, she went to the island with He FeiQuan and the latter showed her how to get there. She went to hug DaShu and greeted all the rest of the sprites and other creatures that she knew of. She did not see the winged fox, but she did not think much about it as DaShu was demanding her attention.
For the many months, she was away, it seemed that it was merely about 2 days passed on the island. She told DaShu her experiences but left out information about the Gold Peach clan, only referring them as my esteemed and cool family members. She also told him about her mortal realm experiences, from their idol, Yuan LeiFeng appearance, to her being saved by a heroine and she even managed to get to be a heroine herself. DaShu laughed at her stories until LiHua told him that she had to go back but when she returned in the future, she promised she would bring back a surprise for DaShu.
Back in Heavens, after talking and showing He FeiQuan the old man's token, LiHua found out the identity of Yue grandpa as, YueXia LaoRen, the God of Marriages. He FeiQuan handed the token back to her while smiling, telling her that this time she scored a powerful friend. YueXia LaoRen was very influential and a lot of mortals prayed to him and immortals try to ingrate themselves, hoping he could help them or their children. Even his mother had been sending gifts to him.
"What sort of help?"
FeiQuan looked at her shiny inquisitive eyes and thought better to answer her.
"What kind of help do you need?" Seeing that he ignored her question, she changed the question to "What could your Mother be visiting him for?"
Oh! She got it. She peeked at him, closed her mouth and gave an all-knowing grin.
FeiQuan just drank his tea and fan himself, ignoring her presence.
"Do you want to visit?"
"I have much to do, I won't have time to accompany you, I bid you well" He FeiQuan deadpanned and turned down her offer and flew off.
LiHua good-naturedly chuckled at her friend's ruffled feathers, took the tea box that she brought along to give some to He FeiQuan, and she went to Court of Moon. She took out the token the old man gave her and announced to door her presence. The gate opened itself to indicate welcoming her inside and she skipped along the path and came along a courtyard and saw Grandfather Yue busy at a distance, inside his hall.
"YaTou just stay there and make yourself comfortable, I will be done in a while." A voice echoed to her.
"Old man you just do your things, I will just stay around here and not bother you" LiHua cupped her hands and replied. She was used to watching Uncle YiKuang being busy and not disturbing him.
LiHua from her angle could see the old man waved off a cloud in front of him and snapped his fingers. Out forth came up a cloud and when the cloud mist dispersed, nameplates appeared dangling in front of him. He would close his eyes and make some pointing and then together with his assistants Hong Luan Xin Jun and Tian Xi Xing Jun went around to secure the red strings around the names that were floating around.
LiHua stood and gasped at the scene. There were so many nameplates floating around the mist, some were prominently bright while some were dull, and some even had a few strings attached.
After all the nameplates had their strings attached, they puffed out into a cloud and YueXia LaoRen waved it off and repeated the same way like a routine. LiHua watched with fascination but it was not long that her interest faded and she dozed off, her elbows on the table, and hands on her chin, holding her head. YueXia LaoRen floated to her and knocked her head.
"Wa! Don't hit the head! I will bruise. Ah! Old man, it's you! I mean Yue grandfather" LiHua wiped her drool, corrected herself and gave YueXia LaoRen a cheeky smile and quickly stood up to greet him.
This girl! Usually, the fairies, immortals, males and females both, and even goddesses came smiling prettily, pouring him tea, and offering snacks, and here she was, a little new fairy, came to his court to sleep.
"Hehe, I thought its that bird who's the only one who dares to hit my head, my family dotes on me so much that they never really hit my head, they do pinch me and smack me on my arm…hmm. Let me make you tea. You must be tired from all the work," LiHua chattered on and took out her homemade tea leaves from her own tea box, and made tea. When tea was done, and the fragrance wafted by, she poured a cup to the old man first then for herself.
YueXia LaoRen picked up the rustic clay teacup, looked at the jadelike green tea, carefully blowing the tea, letting the steam warm his face like a gentle wind, before sipping the tea. He praised the tea and warmed up to the small fairy.
LiHua grinned at his praise and she asked about the nameplates and was explained that he helped make marriages for the mortals and some cases, the immortals, glancing at her to see if she would ask him to show her fated one. She just blinked at him when he paused and he when she did not have the inclination or interest in knowing her own fated one, he continued on.
Some people would have more than one strings meaning they could have more one spouse, such as emperors, or even rich households. It could also mean that their spouse had passed on and they found a new love to settle down with. Those with clear nameplates showed their undying love and commitment towards their intended ones and likewise, the faded nameplates indicated the failing marriages.
When LiHua asked how he decided on the marriages, the YueXia LaoRen, just simply answered that he received data from connected courts, such as Court of Fates and Destinies from SiMing and Court of Wheel of Rebirth from MengPo. Some people had wanted to stay together with many lifetimes but they would be tested after drinking the Soup of Oblivion. LiHua listened and did a "Wo" sound, nodded as if she understood everything he told her. She was waiting for the old man to continue on so she could understand further, but he merely looked at her and stroked his beard, looking very sagely. Both the elderly and the young, nodded at each other, both trying to understand each other.
The girl had a beauty that would intimidate many other females once she matured, and purity in her nature that attracted many beings to her side. Her gold eyes shone brightly with wit and intelligence, from what he knew, she was part of the famed Gold Peach Clan. All these traits would make her be a popular, if not the most popular choice of partner candidate for all the unattached immortals.
Sigh, he could foresee he would be very busy in the future, attending to requests from the males, if they had any fate with this young fairy. He pitied these men already, for he already looked into her shining nameplate, and saw the few names that had broken strings related to her and yet...
How peculiar but Heavens could not reveal all ah. It was a good thing she did not ask too, for as much as he liked this yatou, he did not know how to and could not reveal.
(Somewhere in the Underworld Realm)
In an elegant study table, a certain lord was caught grinning foolishly while he perused and picking one scroll on his table to read.
SheLin quickly looked away, fearing the sight, it was not that the smile was scary but it was the opposite, it was hypnotic and they had never seen their lord smiling like this before. Please return us our original lord! First, the scrolls the lord was reading was upside down. Then they remembered the news that their lord carried a handkerchief when he was in the mortal realm with the young miss. Where was the brilliant, cold, calculating, and ruthless lord went to?
Image! My lord, please keep to your image! SheLin lamented.
She finally was wearing a piece of his Heart Stone, now he could have a peace of mind to know where she was and if she was in any kind of danger, the Lord smiled a little wider, pleased.
