章 15: You Owe me a Life Debt
"Is this your apple?" The young man's voice was deep and enchanting, it was ethereal. I can't help but think that this young man was not an ordinary human being, more like a god.
"Y-Yes, that's mine." I answered politely.
Even though I want to say 'I am the only one here, of course that's my apple'. But I can't bring my self to joke in front of this fine male specimen, a male adonis if I may say.
"Here." The young man's voice was so muscular, more like a bedroom voice that can seduce any female on earth. It sent shivers on my skin.
The young man walked a few steps towards me and put the apple inside the bag I was holding.
"It looks like you need help with that." The young man offered.
"Oh no need..." Before I was about to decline his offer, the young man took both the bags full of groceries in his hands. I looked at him dumbfounded.
"Might as well open the door." The young man looked at me with a neutral face.
"Ahh... y-yes. Right away." I was mesmerized with his gaze towards me that I wasn't able to react quickly to what he just said.
I quickly patted my pocket jeans and found my keys at last. My hands were shaking when inserting it in the door knob but I was successful to open it after a while.
'Oh my... this is embarrassing.' I thought to myself. 'It's not like this is my first time seeing a handsome man. Why am I being so flustered?'
But looking at the young man inside my apartment, he was different from those handsome men I have met before. He emits an aura of supremacy, like a male god amongst men.
The young man put down the grocery bags on the kitchen counter. He looked around my apartment like he was gauging it.
"Um... Thank you for helping me." I said. "By the way my name is Anastasia. I just moved here yesterday night." I extended my hand for a hand shake.
The young man looked at me for a while. He was sizing me from head to toe. And after a few seconds took my out stretched hand and shook it.
"My name is Shiki." The young man said. "Nice to meet you."
When our hands met, I felt some kind of electricity between them. I unconsciously let go of his hand suddenly.
"Oh, would you like something to drink? I have soda and orange juice." I offered.
"Orange juice." Shiki replied.
I took out the box of orange juice from inside the grocery bag and walked towards the kitchen to search for a glass. I was not yet familiar with my new place but fortunately all the things are neatly in place. I took some ice cubes from the freezer, put it inside the glass and poured in some orange juice.
I walked toward Shiki who was still standing behind the kitchen counter. I looked at him closely and had this feeling that I have seen him somewhere before.
"Have a seat." I told him while handing him the glass of orange juice.
Shiki nodded and took a seat on the high stool behind the counter. He slowly took a sip from the glass I had just given him.
"Um, Shiki." I was really having this itch to ask him. "This may seem odd to ask but have we met before?" I looked at him curiously.
"Well I seem to get that pick up line a lot." Shiki flashed a smile. His smile caught me of guard. It was devilishly hot that any woman would fall for him in an instant.
"Well, I wasn't hitting on you or something like that." I said shyly.
I am sure he gets hit on by women a lot but really I didn't have such intention. I felt embarrassed in an instant.
"I never thought you would recognize me in such a short time." Shiki grinned. "Well if you can remember, you owe me a life debt."
