The next day, Aunty May accompanied me to the grocery. The apartment is fully furnished but I still need to buy food and some personal stuff.
Aunty May was waiting for me down stairs. She said that the grocery store was just a few blocks away and that walking can help me familiarize the place even faster.
"Let's go?" Aunty May asked when she saw me exit the elevator.
"Ahuh." I nodded in reply.
Aunty May lead the way. Once we were outside, I saw the streets with people. It was lively now that the sun has come up.
"Bonjour, madame." A french middle age man greeted aunty. He was standing in front of a bread store.
"Bonjour, monsieur Devlin." Aunty May replied. "Vous avez fini de cuire votre délicieux pain? Je peux le sentir d'ici."
"Oui. Tous les pains sont nouvellement cuits et délicieux. Pourquoi ne pas venir avec la jeune femme avec qui tu es plus tard?" The french man said.
"D'accord, plus tard alors." Aunty May replied.
After walking a few steps away, I asked aunty about the brief conversation. "Aunty, what did that french man say?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, that is Mr. Delvin." Aunty May replied. "He is a great baker. He invited us to his shop later when we return from our shopping."
"Oh." I replied. "I guess I need to learn french fast."
"You have french class, right?" Aunty May asked.
"Yes, it of the subjects I am planning to get." I answered.
"Well you really need to learn fast. You will be staying here for a while." Aunty May said with a smile.
"Don't worry aunty. I am a fast learner." I smiled.
After walking a few blocks, I saw the grocery store aunty mentioned. We got in and bought food to fill my refrigerator and some personal necessities.
When we made our way back, we stopped by the bread store to buy some bread and drink coffee.
After having a bite of my croissant, I was amazed with the taste and texture.
"Wow, this croissant is delicious." I said with a smile. "It is different from the ones at home."
"Thank you." I heard a man's voice from behind me. When I looked around I saw a young man about my age wearing a baker's apron. He was tall and had a rather good built. He has light brown hair and olive green eyes. From my perspective, he was rather good looking. "I was the one that made that." The young man smiled handsomely.
"Good morning Franz." Aunty May greeted. "Ana this is Franz, Mr. Delvin's oldest son. Franz, this is Anastasia from America. She will be staying here with me for a while. She will be taking up classes in your university as an exchange student."
"Oh is that so. Nice to meet you Anastasia, you can call me Franz." Franz made a friendly smile and stretched his hand for a hand shake.
"Nice to meet you to Franz." I shook his hand. "You can call me Ana." I smiled back.
"I am currently a sophomore in Business Management." Franz said.
'Sophomore in Business Management.' I thought it was the same as Jeremy. But I shook off that thought. 'I shouldn't be thinking of him right now."
"Why not accompany Ana on her first day?" Aunty May smiled mischievously. "It would be nice to know one person in campus for your first day." She winked at me.
"Oh no, that won't be necessary." I shook my head shyly. "I mean, Franz might be busy that day."
"It's okay. I can make time for you." Franz insisted. "I can show you around campus as well." He smiled sweetly.
"O-Okay." I replied shyly. "Thanks."
"No problem. Anything to help a new friend." Franz said.
"Franz, viens ici pour une minute." Mr. Delvin called.
"À venir." Franz replied. "My dad is calling. Can I get your number?" He took out his cellphone from his jeans' pocket.
