章 14: Curiosity
In the Grigori territory, the part of the underworld is controlled by the fallen angels.
There are two men sitting in an office building. One man was tall and appeared to be in his twenties with an average build. He had black hair and golden bangs with a black goatee. The man sitting across from him was handsome and appeared to be in his twenties with silver hair and purple eyes.
They were both the governor-general and vice governor-general of the fallen angels Azazel and Shemhazai. Azazel had a smile on his face while Shemhazai was talking to him.
Oh, so you are telling me that the little brother of the current Lucifer has run away from home.
"Yes, that's right."
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha that is hilarious."
"But Azazel I thought you wanted me to keep you apprize of all information regarding the boy"
"I did but I didn't think this situation would happen which makes him even more interesting."
"Alright Shemhazai you may go I need time to collect my thoughts.
"As you wish."
Azazel got up and looked out the window.
"How interesting for such a wild card to be out into the world unsupervised. I wonder how the world is going to change from now on."
This man Azazel had developed an interest in Maxius ever since he killed Isamu who was a Section Head of the Utsusmei Agency. He had learned about this when he collected information from the captured Kazuhisa Doumon.
Since then, Azazel has been keeping an eye on Maxius and all his accidents like creating new types of creatures that have never been seen and the mana controlling technique. But not only that he is surmised that the two news sports that are making a sensation in lower devil society were also created by Maxius.
One is called sorcerer ball which is similar but different to soccer and the other is the magic board.
Sorcerer ball which has all the basic rules of soccer except the field is 1.5x times bigger and the goal is in the sky and gravity on the field is 1.2x time original gravity. The game is played in both the air and the ground, but scoring must be done through the air goal which is blocked by a goalie.
This game was made possible thanks to the creation of the sorcerer ball, which is a special ball, that adapts to its environment allowing for playing in the air and ground without the need of another's magic. The ball also comes in different levels amateur, semi-pro, and pro. Each ball level corresponds to your level of magic control with pro being the highest.
The game is very physical and taxing and has caught on with the lower and mid-class group of devils because this game does not require one to have high levels of magic or special powers. The only thing someone needs is good magic control and physical fitness.
The Gremory and Stiri family and the four Satan's invested money in creating a league known as the crimson league. The league has grown and now has Twelve teams from 8 different territories. The games get very high ratings, and the game has grown in popularity during last year's Sorcerer's Grand Cup between the Lucifer Reds and the Equinox when the aces of both teams showcased what is now known as signature moves by hitting the ball in a precise angle using magic and imprinting on the ball to move in a certain way. Which had never been done before and gave way to new possibilities in the game.
The Magic board is also an invention that came out of Gremory industries which allows someone to fly in the air the Board is a hit with the devils of younger ages, and it was not long before it became a sport in the form of racing in a different dimension with obstacles that can appear out of nowhere. The race is like a real-life version of Mario kart.
These two new sports have allowed devils of all classes to especially mid to low-class devils to make money and become wealthy. After all, many of them cannot compete with high-class devils and do not want to serve them either so these sports were a chance to change their lives.
