Realizing that Ru had stopped and stiffened, Xini loosened her arms around him and casually moved back. Holding his hand, she looked down, her eye lids covering her own tears, as she said," Ru, if you... love her so much, you know you can just go ahead. The family will eventually accept her."

"No! I was never in love with her!"

This growled statement made XIni's head jerk up. What did he mean that he was not in love with her? Was he saying it out of anger? She had been the first girlfriend that he had brought home. He had dated her for so long. 

As she looked into his eyes, searching for the hatred that made him say this, she could not help it when she found none. Only clear eyes, a bit red though, stared back at her. Ru was not lying.
