章 81: Kanto League Championship 7

The rest of the night was uneventful as the next day of the Kanto League championship continued. The crowd seemed to have grown more significant as the newscasters and all the workers were getting things set up for the heated battle that was about to go down today.

Liam's match was going to be last, and Ash's was going to be first. The Oak team had gotten together to have breakfast before the matches. Even though Green and Red had lost, they still looked happy to be together once again and were even happily chatting with Ash.

They were giving Ash some tips on the mistakes that he had made on his last match and ways to fix them. Gary was just staring daggers at Liam as if he was ready to eat him right away. Liam got the chills as he looked away from Gary, causing Daisy to laugh as she saw how competitive they all looked.

Ever since childhood, it hasn't even changed.

After having breakfast, they all went to the stadium for their matches. The announcer could be seen trying to excite the crowd up for the upcoming matches. They had dancers and an excellent show with famous singers to give the start of the semi-finals a flare.

As soon as the show ended, Ash and Yi showed up on the stage like magic as side effects popped up around them. Liam knew that Ash would win due to Yi being stuck with only one type, which was something he never understood with these gym leaders, but he wasn't one to change a system that was working for them.

Yi started the battle by sending out a Hitmonlee; Ash recognized the advantage he had as he sent out his Pidgeot. The announcer started the fight as Pidgeot used agility first to get his speed up. Hitmonlee used bulk up to boost his stats up too.

They charged towards each other as Pidgeot used Fury Swipes, and Hitmonlee used Double Kick to counter. They kept attacking each other until they backed off. Hitmonlee then went on to use a low kick, which Pidgeot easily dodged by flying up high.

Yi was frustrated about this as Ash had Pidgeot use Quick Attack and Wing Attack to slowly whittle Hitmonlee down until he was knocked out, giving the crowd a show. Yi ground his teeth and sent out his Hitmonchan.

As soon as Hitmonchan came out, Yi gave out the order to use Thunder Punch, but Pidgeot once again dodged the attack by flying up, and as he was flying up, he saw that Hitmonchan had jumped up trying to use Sky Uppercut getting pretty high up.

Pidgeot quickly used Twister to blow strong winds causing Hitmonchan to get stuck in a mini-tornado but Hitmonchan immediately used Mach Punch to come out of it and punched Pidgeot square in the guts. Because they were in the air Pidgeot just backed up quickly to minimize the damage.

Hitmonchan had landed back on the ground as Ash was surprised by that attack, but he quickly concentrated as he ordered a combination of Quick Attack and Steel Wing, which ran straight into Hitmonchan, knocking him back into the ground.

Just as Hitmonchan was about to get back up, Pidgeot appeared in front of him and Pecked him right in the eye, causing Hitmonchan a lot of pain. Yi immediately returned Hitmonchan; he didn't want any more damage done to him, so he'd instead take the loss than to have his Pokemon damaged forever.

Ash apologized for the foul play, and Yi forgave them, and the battle moved on. Yi summoned a Machoke, and he came out, cracking his knuckles as Pidgeot rolled his eyes. Pidgeot charged towards Machoke, but Machoke was able to dodge as he grabbed Pidgeot and used a Seismic Toss, causing some damage to Pidgeot.

Pidgeot quickly got back up and flew up into the air as he started to get ready to unleash a powerful move called Hurricane. The wind began to pick up as Machoke was lifted off the ground and was spinning in all kinds of directions.

Pidgeot then used Brave Bird right in Machoke's chest as he went flying and hit the ground hard, making him faint. I was getting tired of losing, so he sent out one of his strongest Pokemon Machamp, who came out pounding on the ground with all four of his arms. Ash was ready to battle but decided to returned Pidgeot.

Ash then sent out his Charizard; as soon as Charizard saw Machamp, they both were glaring at each other, and it seemed like it was going to be a hectic match. Charizard took to the sky, but Yi wasn't having any of that and had Machamp use Rock Throw as he started throwing rocks at Charizard.

Charizard dodged them all and even grabbed one of the rocks and threw it right back at Machamp, but Machamp didn't notice this until it was too late as the rock came smashing into his head. Machamp had gotten a concussion from impact and was confused.

Charizard quickly charged up a Flamethrower and unleashed it on Machamp. Yi had to stop the battle and wondered why Ash's Pokemon was so violent. The round ended with Machamp having to get some medical attention.

The medics came over and checked Machamp out and told Yi he needs medical attention as soon as possible. Yi knew he wasn't going to win, so he just forfeited the match, which the crowd started booing because they wanted to see more of the fights, but he couldn't stop thinking about Machamp and rushed over to the Pokemon center.

Ash apologized once again before Yi left in a hurry. Ash took the rest of the day off to relax in his room because he felt terrible for his Pokemons actions. Janine saw he was sad and went to comfort him xxx.

The next matchup was Gary versus Sassy; this match was also a natural match for Gary, who quickly wiped out Sassy's whole squad and had not even used more than two Pokemon to do that. Sabrina was disappointed with the match but quickly got over it as she saw Liam step up on the stage.
