章 12: Who's That Guy?
They had arrived at her family mansion that was situated at one of the prominent residence, Jade Residence after an hour and a half journey and was welcomed by both of her sisters, Wang Yi Su and Wang Yi Mei, who were waiting for her at the exquisite gazebo.
Both of them were smiling but there was a glint of different meaning to them. Both of them sized up Chen Yi who was walking side by side their baby sister.
"Hello, thanks for sending our baby sister back, safe and sound," Wang Yi Mei thanked Chen Yi, while wrapping her arms around Wang Yi Ling's shoulders. Chen Yi smiled at her.
"It's nothing. After all, we are friend, so it really doesn't matter," he explained. Wang Yi Su's mouth twitched. Sure doesn't matter, she thought. It was clear as day that the guy was trying to hit on her youngest sister. Or maybe they are dating each other? Everything was possible, hmm…
"Why don't you come over and have a tea, before you go?" Wang Yi Su invited him to have a tea, only then she would have chance to ask about the two youths in front of her. She felt that it was her responsibility to make sure her sisters were taken advantage of.
"Oh, it's okay. I think I'll pass this time. Maybe next time," he gently rejected the offer. Then he turned to Wag Yi Ling who was stood next to him. She looked at him with her bright eyes, seemingly waiting for him to speak.
"See you around, Yi Ling," Chen Yi said to her, gently looked at her.
"Mmm," she was acted like a teenage girl, nodding her head vigorously, eyes sparkled. Wang Yi Su and Wang Yi Mei who were stood on the side rolled their eyes. What the heck with Xiao Ling? Can't she see that the guy actually hit on her? Could she really blind?
"Eh? You're leaving?" It was as if she was just waking from a dream. Wang Yi Su scoffed, Wang Yi Mei silently grunted while Chen Yi chuckled, obviously amused.
"Yes, I'm going, dear," Chen Yi replied her with a glint of laughter in his eyes yet appeared gentle. He instinctively rumbled her hair before tucked back a few strayed strands back behind her ears. Wang Yi Ling undoubtedly smitten and was in daze by his gestures. She was awestruck!
Oh my poor heart! Did Chen Yi just rumble my hair? Why it feel like my feet was not touching the ground? This kind of feeling is so dreamy, so surreal…
"Yi Ling, are you okay?" she was snapped back to her senses. Her cheek suddenly felt burning hot, embarrassed. How she wished there was a hole for her to hide! Goodness! It was so embarrassing!!!
"I'm… I'm okay," she stammered. Then she cleared her throat before darted her gaze towards both her sisters who were obviously secretly laughing at her. Damn!
"You're going now?" she asked.
"Yep, I'm going now," He answered her, tender and silvery. Part of him was reluctant to leave but he knew he couldn't stay.
"Wait! Where are you going to stay?" She asked. She just remembered he was not someone from City A. To drive back would take another four hours' drive, technically one-day journey. He sure will exhausted by the time he reached home.
"Well, to drive back is impossible consider it is too late already. So, I'll just crash at one of the hotel here. Don't worry," He said, assured her. This time he was instinctively caress her cheek. Deep in his heart how much he wished to kiss her and wrapped her in his arms. Only then he will be assured. He even had been imagining he did just that a couple of times already.
"Oh, if that's the case, alright then, I'll see you around," she bubbled, clearly elated that Chen Yi was going to stay. She was looking forward to see him around and didn't realize what it means.
"You wish to see me again?" Chen Yi teased her.
"Of course! Who else will bring me back?" she replied, equally playfully while pinching his right arm. Her two sisters who had long stood idly on the side were speechless and at the same time sighed at the sight of their antics. It was clear as the day, love is in the air!
"Sure. I'll bring you back after you're done here," he agreed. Wang Yi Ling unconsciously hold his right arm and both of them walked back to his BMW. His words 'I'll bring you back' sounded so heavenly and she was in cloud nine! How come he is so sweet? Bathe in honey? Or coated with sugar? God! My poor heart is going to suffer, she thought to herself.
"So, just give me a call, ok?"
"Mmm, sure! Most probably will go back the day after tomorrow," her voice was cheery. Chen Yi liked this side of her that brought happiness and soothing atmosphere. That even could calm the angry sea, a chaotic war and the volcanic volcanoes!
"Alright then, you should go back in. It's cold tonight," She nodded her head and was about to turn around to head inside the house when suddenly Chen Yi hugged her from behind. His breath tickled her ear. She trembled slightly.
"Good night, Yi Ling," his voice tender and passionate. Wang Yi Ling froze. There was total silent between them as if they were taking their own sweet time to savour the moment of togetherness. She suddenly became clueless as to how to deal with this kind of situation. It never happened to her, well, except in her wildest dreams between her and Chen Yi.
"Good night to you too," She finally found her voice to reply him. Her voice was hoarse due to the excitement ignited by the hug presented by Chen Yi. Right after Wang Yi Ling said her line; Chen Yi took the chance and pecked her cheek, beamed with the respond from the girl he loved. He quickly ushered her to start walk back to the main entrance.
Wang Yi Ling took her own sweet time to stroll back to the main entrance. She was trying hard to suppress her feeling at the moment. Before she strode into the mansion, she turned around and waved at Chen Yi. Only after Wang Yi Ling entered the mansion did Chen Yi drove away and find himself a hotel to stay.
Back to the mansion, Wang Yi Su and Wang Yi Mei looked at the dazed Wang Yi Ling with their gossipy hearts. They were clearly waiting for their baby sister to spill whatever transpired between her and the guy that had sending her back home. Their gossipy heart really couldn't wait. Unfortunately for them, their baby sister seemingly lost in her world.
"Eh, Xiao Ling, who's that guy just now? Are you dating him?" Wang Yi Mei started her detective mode.
"It must be someone special, I presume," Wang Yi Su guessed. Based on what she had witness and her own experience, this could only mean one thing – LOVE.
"Do you think our baby sister is in love? For real?" Wang Yi Mei wondered if this was the case. They had never seen their Wang Yi Ling to get close to any male, not to mentioned to involve herself in a matter regarding the sacred feeling, LOVE.
"Mm… clearly someone still stuck somewhere in the cloud," Wang Yi Mei commented. Wang Yi Su chuckled.
"Hey, Xiao Ling! Do you hear us?" Wang Yi Mei tugged her hand. Wang Yi Ling snapped back to her senses. She looked at her sisters, smiling like a fool in love.
"Did you say anything just now?" she asked. Both Wang Yi Mei and Wang Yi Su rolled the eyes, frustrated. Their baby sister obviously oblivious!
"We were asking you just now, who was that guy? Boyfriend?"
"Oh, no. he is my friend, Chen Yi," she replied in her cheery tone.
"Only friend? Are you sure, only friend? Nothing more?" Wang Yi Mei tried to probe her furthermore. Wang Yi Ling shot her sister a glance then shrugged.
"Only friend and nothing more," she affirmed. She was still not clear about this relationship either, thus, she decided to go with the flow. Although, truth to be told, she did feel something for Chen Yi, especially after the day he had first hold her hands intimately in public.
"Are you serious? With all the lovey-dovey scene just now, you two just 'A FRIEND'?!" Wang Yi Mei bellowed. She was becoming upset with this sister of hers. She even stressed on the word A FRIEND in hope her sister could come around and open her eyes!
"Eh, what lovey-dovey? We were not lovey-dovey, okay?" Wang Yi Ling protested.
"XIAO LING LING! ARE YOU BLIND?" Wang Yi Mei whined. She cried internally seeing her baby sister's ignorance. She couldn't believe her own eyes and ears when she realized her baby sister was utterly hopeless to know the situation she's in!
"Xiao Ling a… If you're not being in love with him, how could you let him to hug you, to kiss you as he wish? In other words, to molest you?" Wang Yi Su butted in. she would not let any man to take advantage of her naïve and ignorant baby sister.
"Well… It's…" Wang Yi Ling sighed.
"What is it?" Wang Yi Mei demanded. She couldn't stand the situation anymore. She really wanted to get to the bottom of the matter. If that Chen Yi brat tries to take advantage, just he wait and see what she would do!
"I think I like him and he had declared his love and intention to me before this. But I didn't give him any response," Wang Yi Ling mumbled, admitted to her sisters. "Because I still doubtful about this kind of relationship," she disclosed her inner thought to her sisters. Both her sisters were speechless. Is this really happened to their Wang Yi Ling? They exchanged the knowing look before flanked Wang Yi Ling on the sofa.
"Xiao Ling, I can see that Chen Yi is quite good. He also got the look and seemingly charming. Why don't you give yourself a chance?" Wang Yi Mei expressed her opinion.
"Not to mention you two look good together," Wang Yi Su chimed in. Wang Yi Ling contemplated for a while, before she finally declared, "I'll give it a try!"
"But I guess that's not why you asked me to come back right?" Wang Yi Ling asked and looked at Wang Yi Su.
"No, we are going to help our Yi Mei here to convince mom to let her and Li Qiang to get married," Wang Yi Su said. "But we'll talk about it tomorrow. It's getting late now, and you must be exhausted from your journey," she added.
"Where's mom?" Wang Yi Ling suddenly asked. She just realized she didn't see her mother around.
"She was visiting Auntie Qiao. She will be coming back before night fall tomorrow," Wang Yi Mei answered her. Wang Yi Ling nodded her head then got up from the sofa. On her way to her bedroom, her phone rang, indicated incoming message. She quickly fished out her phone and read the message.
'I had safely checked in at Jazz Hotel. You should take a rest. See you around Yi Ling.' She smiled reading upon the message before she typed her reply.
'Glad to know that. You too, take a rest. See you around. Good night!'
