"She insisted to also join me on the way to work. I already told her it's not necessary. " I told Michelle.
"Well you can't blame her. After what happened last night, I doubt she'd let you off on your own. " Albert said.

While Joshua is at work, I've been studying about this world.

"After seeing the clip on my CCTV, I immediately went outside. There are scratch marks left on the ground, probably left by the monster. "
We asked the authorities for a statement.
"There are no such mythical creatures roaming around the city. However, we would still advise everyone to stay indoors during nighttime. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to solve this situation. "

"Hey Joshua, the manager called you. " a workmate called.

I went to the staff room.

"Joshua, could you gp back home and bring thr Knight of Iris with you? " the manager said in a serious tone.
"Amelia? Why? "
"The Grand Mage called for them. There will be an emergency meeting this afternoon. "
"An emergency meeting? Did something happen? "
"I can't tell you the specifics, but the situation got a whole lot worse. "
The manager had a pained look in her eyes.
"A... lot worse?... "
I gulped.
"I'll excuse you for this shift. Stay at home after you call her. "
"Right. "
I went home right away.

"You're back already? "
Amelia was surprised to see me.
"Yeah... "
"Did something happen? "
"The manager told me that the Grand Mage called for you. "
"The Grand Mage? Why? "
"I don't know. Probably something related to the monsters. "

"They said they'll be picking you up at the convenience store. "
"Understood. "
Amelia changed into her combat gear.
"Let's go. "
"Actually, they told me to stay at home. "

Amelia gave a warm smile before heading out.

"I wonder what's happening? "
I arrived at the convenience store after a short walk.
In front of the store was Albert, clad in armor. He seems to have noticed me.
"Ah. You're here. Let's go inside. " he said.
I followed him inside the store.
"It's nice to mee you, Knight of Iris. " a woman greeted.
"It's nice to meet you too. Just Amelia would be fine" I told her.
"Then please call me Cecil. "
"Then it's nice to meet you Cecil. "
We shook hands.
"The service will be arriving shortly. You can stay here while you wait. " Cecil said, pointing towards a room.
"Understood. Thank you. "
I went inside the room.
"This is?... "
"The staff room. " Albert answered. "This is where we stay during our breaks. "
"I see. "
After a few minutes, the service has arrived.
"Let's go. " Cecil said.
We entered the same vehicle from last time.
"Greetings adventurers. "
Inside was the Grand Mage.
"Your Excellency. "
I took a bow.
"No need for that. We're all normal people in this world. " he said.
"Right. "
"So what's the situation boss? " asked Cecil.
"A spacial fissure formed near monster nest. " the Grand Mage replied.
"A spacial rupture? Then the barrier is extremely weakened. " Cecil said.
"Yes. That's why I need to seal it as soon as possible. And for that, we'll have to clear out the monster nest. " said the Grand Mage.
"Is the monster nest responsible for the monster activity in this city? " asked Albert.
"Yes. That's why this operation is important. We'll be hitting two birds with one stone. " the Grand Mage replied.
We arrived at the same building from last time.
The people inside the building bowed to the Grand Mage. He simply waved it off, implying there's no need for such greetings.
"We're here. " said the Grand Mage.
We're not going up this time?
Two guards opened the doors, revealing a massive conference room.
Amazing. This place looks so different compared to ours in Eden.
"Take a seat wherever you like. I'll be making preparations for the meeting, so I'll be going now. "
The Grand Mage left the room.
After we took a seat, I looked around the room.
"Something wrong? " Albert asked.
"No. I'm just fascinated by this world. " I replied.
"Although it's different, it doesn't seem that bad does it? " he asked.
"Yes. I rather like the convenience of this world. "
"This world is so good that a few people, including myself, decided to live here. " Cecil said.
"This world? Are you also from Eden? " I asked her.
"Yes. I was a part of the expedition team lead by the Grand Mage. " she replied. "Though we weren't supposed to stay here initially, the fractures in the dimensional barrier caused us to stay. "
"The fractures. Those were caused by the World Enders, right? " Albert asked.
"We're not 100% sure about it, but the records support the idea. " Cecil replied.
"The Grand Mage talked about the Avatars last time. He said they were Earth's countermeasure against threats. But what are they exactly? " I asked Cecil.
"I'm sorry, but we also have no clue about them. We only ready about them in this world's scriptures. But we will know when one of them awakens. A being of great power will surely be detected by our systems. " she replied.
"I see... But whatever they are, I hope they awaken before calamity befalls this world. " I told Cecil.
She smiled in response.
The Grand Mage entered the room. He went in front for his speech.
"I gathered you here today for an emergency meeting. I'll give it to you straight. A World Ender has descended. "
