"What is this?" Ra reached out his fingers and tentatively touched the crackling blue energy, it hummed beneath his fingertips. His power was sealed in this place but since he wasn't sensing ant immediate danger he took a confident step forward. The energy surrounded him like thick walls, but there was no definite shape to the space he found himself in. Only a pulsing blue glow that emanated a pressure that he could feel with his entire being. "Hello?" he called out, there had to be somebody or something behind this pulling the strings but he received no answer. In the distance he could see a light pulsing brighter than the ones nearest him but then again that could just be his eyes playing tricks on him. "Forward then," he shrugged, and made his way towards the strange lights.
As there were no obstructions in his path Ra traveled in pretty much a straight line, however from time to time his mind would drift and he'd end up walking diagonally, he was unaware of it while he was doing it but when he noticed he would quickly correct his path. He walked for what seemed like hours, his goal never seemed any nearer or further away which led him to believe it was indeed his eyes playing tricks on him, but seeing as there were no other options he continued.
When from the corner of his eye a large crystal gate formed in his vision it did not immediately register to him. He'd even forgotten what he was trying to do. But when the image began to flicker and fade he snapped to his senses and rushed backwards. Before him rose a huge gate formed of clear crystal harboring a golden light giving it a celestial appearance. Ra felt relief flood his body as he fell to his knees before the gates, they swung open to admit him. Ra had not been able to see what lay beyond the gates from outside of it as a thick white fog had obscured his vision, but after walking through it he watched as a grand crystal library appeared in his field of perception. Ra let out a small gasp- This was unlike any library he had seen before, Grand Sorcére shouldn't even be mentioned. This was less a library and more of a majestic palace. "This place..." he glanced around, "is this God's library?" he wondered, and the place did have a divine aura by mortal standards. Upon entering the library Ra was once again filled with awe, he was surrounded by bookshelves, each shelf must have held thousands of books and scrolls. However, this wasn't what made the library so amazing, what made it amazing was the power resonating from each book. It was enough power to level a continent!
Ra wandered through the aisles lined with bookshelves, when he touched a book, even without opening it his mind was flooded with information. There were few books he could touch longer than a few seconds before he had to retract his hand. Ra continued to wander and touch books for several hours, his harvest during this time was definitely not small, he had learned dozens of abilities although his proficiency in those skills were low they were far from comparable to what he previously knew!
Ra's hand was mere centimeters from a scroll when a booming voice shattered the silence, causing him to snatch his hand back looking extremely guilty. He revealed a bitter smile, "Of course such a precious treasure cannot be obtained for free," he sighed. The voice was currently introducing itself..."I am Ruvdilon, The Last Son of Vulgrim, Heir of Flame and Keeper of the Tomes,"
"So impressive," Ra whispered, "Indeed I am impressive," the voice sounded pleased, this shocked Ra who hadn't been loud at all.
"Keeper of the Tomes? Do you mean these books?" Ra questioned the voice as he glanced around at the many shelves of books. The voice sneered, "How can such paltry works possibly compare to the Tomes?" he threw the question back in a derisive tone. Ra took this in stride however and asked, "So what are the Tomes?" The voice sounded surprised, "You don't know what the Tomes are? Then what are you doing here?" Ra shrugged, "Accident?" he offered, his shoulders raised slightly. The voice gave a heavy sigh, "No matter, there are no accidents in this place, all who come here are great individuals who possess the power to shape the world, but the power of the Tomes gives them the strength to shape magic itself," Ra waved his hand dismissively, "I don't want it, magic sucks I'd rather have a cool sword." "YOU!" the voice roared and a huge transparent face appeared hovering in the air causing Ra to take several steps backward, "How dare you look down on the Sacred Tomes with your dog eyes!" And with a yell, 7 thick tattered books appeared in the air, each one radiating might more powerful than the last, and indeed the books and scrolls on the shelves were not comparable to these 7, in fact even if all the books in the library were stacked in a pile their combined might would not be equal to one tenth of the weakest of these Tomes. Ra felt a strong sense of foreboding from the weakest Tome and the threat of being obliterated from existence from the strongest, still he reached out his hands to touch them, but before he could they vanished.
