Ice.
Frigid cold permeated the dense cavern.
Icicles hung high above them, threatening to fall, shatter, and possibly, even impale the unlucky Slayers who happened to find themselves beneath one.
Many began summoning fireballs to warm themselves, others encased themselves in mana to ward away the cold, however those like Ra and Bast were seemingly unaffected, in fact 9 of the 15 in Ra's group were unbothered by this environment.
Meanwhile all of the Elves were shivering madly.
Bast cast a curious glance at them.
"What stage are you all at?" She asked innocently.
They glared at her.
"M-M-M-Most...uvvus a-a-are adv-vanced heroic s-souls." he stuttered "e-except h-him and h-h-him." he managed to get out pointing out two elves.
"T-tho---"
"Ok thats enough." Ra said fed up with all the stuttering, he released his aura and shielded them with it, The Elves instantly regained color in their faces, they brightened up immensely.
However, it's not like they didn't know who was the cause of their relief, pride and shame were conflicting emotions welling up within their chests.
The one who had been speaking took the initiative to come forward and offer his thanks.
"No need, this is only what I should do; Apart from you all being under my command, Headmaster Gram also charged me with your protection." he said, waving his hand dismissively.
"Ok so splitting up is no longer an option, we'll move as one unit." Ra immediately took command on the spot and began issuing orders.
"While I can shield everyone, it would limit my ability to fight if we encounter enemies, we don't know whats in here so its best to be prepared, those with the ability, take one or two elves under your wing." He ordered.
They quickly did as they were told and before long they were venturing deeper into the caverns.
Along the way, countless icicles had fallen above their heads, however, Bast burned them all to mist before they could land.
They advanced quickly, and soon found themselves inside a spacious circular cave deep within, runic patterns covered the wall, glowing as if they contained an immense amount of mana.
"This...is definitely a treasure!" Silvains eyes shined with greed, running out from beneath his benefactors protection.
Upon exiting, however, he was immediately affected by that bone chilling cold, directly collapsing to the ground, and in seconds froze to solid ice.
"Is he...dead?" the surrounding elves were shocked.
Ra felt a headache coming on as he intensely rubbed his temples.
"I don't know if I should save this guy even if I can." he thought wryly even as he approached the frozen elven form.
"His soul is intact." Ra announced, his tone flat.
Which brought sighs of relief from the crowd.
"Bast, do you know the dragonfire dragonslaying spell?"
Bast rolled her eyes. "Who do you think you're talking to?" And an intense white flickering flame appeared in her palms.
Ra smiled. "Of course, as expected of my wife." he said grinning.
Basts' face flushed as she punched him in the arm, turning her head away. "Idiot, who said im your wife..." it wasn't a question. she watched him from the corner of her eye looking at her with a profound gaze.
"Bast, warm this guy up from head to toe, do it slowly." Ra was all business again, casting one last look of disdain at the frozen figure on the ground, he began studying the walls.
He stood there for an hour seemingly contemplating before finally managing to tear his gaze away.
"Let's move on." Was all he said.
"W-Wait, What about the treasure!"
The Elves refused immediately.
Ra looked at them with a coldness in his gaze to match the frigid temperatures of the cave.
"Those with the ability, Naturally, may attempt to take away this treasure...those who do not...may seek their deaths if they so desire, I will not stop you." Ra sounded like an overbearing God overlooking the world, his voice struck chords in their souls.
Saying so, Ra abruptly turned around and made his way deeper inside.
The Elves quickly followed, Their reasons were twofold, they recognized Ra's strength and realized this tomb was likely beyond them, they would only be seeking death here alone.
And second, they wanted their fair share of whatever treaures resides here.
Ra naturally knew their intentions, However, from the moment they entered this cave he knew the elves did not possess the ability to take away a single treasure.
Those runic patterns on the cave wall had confirmed this, and he decided to share what he'd learned at this time.
"We are currently within the tomb of the Primal Ice Blue Dragon Emperor Saint." He announced slowly.
"Emperor?"
"He said Emperor?!"
"This is a Saint Emperor Tomb?"
Silvain who had been studying the floor in shame for quite a while now after being saved a second time suddenly raised his head.
"We were told this tomb belonged to a mere Primal Blue Dragon Saint." He said derisively.
Ra raked him with a cold glare, forcing him to take a few steps back.
"I see, The Great Elven Slayer Academy is filled with idiots." he said, nodding his head as if he had just come to this startling realization.
This statement drew a round of agreement from the other humans.
"Yes, They must be idiots."
"Naturally, who would send idiots to a Dragon Tomb apart from fellow idiots?"
"Perhaps their entire race is mentally handicapped?"
The Elves were furious at the ridicule they were receiving.
Ra held up his hand, calming them down.
"It's not that we're looking down on you, merely, it is pretty common knowledge that only Kings and Emperors are entombed within Dragon Tombs." he stated.
"So to enter with the belief that all you had to worry about was the strength of a mere Primal Blue Dragon Saint, which naturally apart from those of us present, normal Slayers likely wouldn't be able to take on, is the pinnacle of idiocy." He said simply.
And the Elves felt their faces burn with rage and embarrassment, because naturally, he was correct.
They weren't even suited for this mission, they were... too weak.
"If you wish to return I can send you back, but know that if you stay, you will not gain one single benefit from this tomb."
"And who are you to try to stop us?!"
"I'm not saying I will prevent you from obtaining benefits, merely..." He paused-
"If your strength is insufficient...you will die." he finished, casting a serious gaze over them all.
