章 20: A New Friend
When Ra awoke he was in a room he didn't recognize, the walls were bare and the bed was covered in thick black quilts and pillows, and he was buried beneath them.
A small soft lump was curled up on his chest, it rose and fell rhythmically, He recognized it for what it was by scent alone.
"Bast." he breathed.
A powerful hunger overtook him as he gazed at her sleeping face, capturing her lips with his, he sucked them softly, drawing her bottom lip into his mouth he rolled it beneath his tongue.
"Mmm" Bast moaned.
Her eyes flickered opened, endless joy filled her heart seeing him awake, squeezing him tighter, she allowed him to continue teasing her lips, shutting her eyes and falling into the sweet lullaby of his breathing as she immersed herself in the kiss.
After ten minutes she pulled herself away reluctantly, staring into his shining golden eyes, her heart caught in her chest, she shook her head, planted her hands on his torso and pushed herself up.
But Ra was relentless, as she pulled away he sat up, stealing kiss after kiss, his hand pressed against the small of her back as he dove in again and again as Bast tried to speak.
"No..."
*Kiss
"We can't..."
*Kiss
"Dragon..."
*Kiss
Sighing in exasperation she gave in, kissing him with everything she had.
When he finally pulled away for air she was finally able to complete her sentence.
"We have practical Dragonslaying class today." She finally spit out before her lips were captured again.
Ra was unwilling but he resigned knowing it was important they make the best of their time here at the academy.
"How long have I been out?" he asked curiously while searching near the bed for his boots.
"Four days, What happened?"
"Stupid magic." Ra muttered under his breath
"That portal wanted me to exchange my strength for magic strength, it would have made me physically weaker Bast." Ra complained.
"What? Why didn't that happen to me?"
"Well..." Ra began awkwardly
"You're not that strong Bast..."
"Bastard! I'll show you strong!"
She exclaimed in shock, grabbing pillows and hurling them at his head with all the force she could muster, which contrary to Ra's jest was no small matter.
How dare he underestimate her!
One pillow after another flew towards his head, Ra was weaving his head preemptively dodging the oncoming missiles, he managed to get closer and tackle her to the bed, tickling her savagely causing her to squeal in delight.
A knock on the door brought them back to reality, Bast was off the bed and pulling it open while breathing heavily and fixing her hair.
"Oh! Instructor Shizune! Ra just woke up..." She said, staring at the floor; Her face flushed.
"Am I interrupting?"
Bast shook her head still staring at the floor.
"No Instructor." Ra answered.
"Good, Ra I expect to see you in class this evening, Ms.Silver."
Instructor Shizune inclined her head before vanishing.
"Is that a movement skill or a teleport do you think?"
Bast shrugged slightly.
"I have to change." she mumbled, stepping behind Ra and pushing him out the door.
"Go and get ready for class."
Ra turned outside the door and Bast darted in for a quick kiss before slamming the door in his face.
Shrugging, Ra headed towards the boys dorm, fingers locked behind his head.
"I should probably get permission to hunt the island's Dragon's from Instructor Shizune later, if i can reach a breakthrough to Ancient Heroic soul I'll be stronger than the slayer who protects the Academy." he thought excitedly.
"I'll have to work hard."
Ra's head was in the clouds when he bumped into a another boy smaller than him but still quite big, Ra was 3 meters tall so this kid being about his size was a strange experience for him.
"My mistake." Ra said nonchalantly.
And he stepped to the side to go around him but was immediately cut off again by the youth.
"My mistake." the kid mocked him. "Did you think you could bump into me and then pretend nothing happened?"
"Kid, I'm warning you, walk away." Ra advised seriously.
"Walk away." the kid mocked again, and as he finished his sentence, Ra's fist flew at his mouth, it connected with a loud thud knocking the kid to the ground, Ra wiped blood off his fist and was about to swing again when another kid, much skinnier than the one holding his bleeding lips in his hands appeared next to him gripping his wrist.
He was skinny but he was by no means weak, exuding a presence that belied his strength, he gazed at Ra smilingly.
"Do you mind letting him off this once? I'll be sure to properly teach him in the future." he promised, releasing his hold on Ra's wrist.
Ra rolled his eyes. "No need, it was my mistake anyway, he should've accepted my apology when i offered it."
The guy sighed shaking his head, he extended his hand.
Ra took it.
"The name's Neb, and the idiot over there, That's Shu." he said nodding towards the kid on the ground.
"Ra" He said simply, inclining his head.
Neb nodded smiling slightly.
"Good to meet you, Ra, I expect we'll be seeing you around."
"Of course." Ra said
"Come on Shu, get up."
Shu stood up glaring daggers at Ra, but Neb slapped the back of his neck and kicked him in the rear.
"Are ya done causing trouble? huh?"
Neb barked at him, kicking him again.
Ra fought to stifle his laughter, he was not accustomed to being serious this long.
Neb glanced at Ra again.
"We'll be leaving then."
And Ra nodded at him before continuing on his way.
