章 10: They did things
They were a few inches apart. Far enough that she didn't have to look up to see him, close enough for him to hold on to her, which he did.
There was a quiet, the kind of quiet Ezeomo instilled when the gods were angry.
"I don't understand." She said.
"You are not supposed to." He sighed as he reached out to her. Like she had guessed he did the same thing Nwere had done. He let his lips touch hers, but he did more. He slid his tongue into her mouth and his hands held her close so they were conjoined. He did this and he did that, things Nwere had never done. Things she wanted him to do. Things that she knew other villagers were not allowed to feel. A crime she could be banished for.
She didn't care, she was already banished in mind.
During that moment she wondered what it would be like to have her body worshipped by two men. At this thought her body shook like banana leaves.
