章 87: Pre time-skip intermission
Inside his office, Rasa was looking over the documents citing the recent developments in his village. Thanks to Oasis, they had grown tremendously in a short period of time.
As he was wondering where his son had gotten all his ideas from, Chiyo and Ebizō entered the room.
"Greetings, Honoured siblings. What brings you into my office today?"
"Rasa, we have something important we'd like to discuss…"
Hearing Ebizo's words, Rasa smiled wryly… For some reason, he already had an idea where this was going.
Taking a seat, both siblings sighed, as Chiyo spoke up.
"The villagers have started a movement… They want Gaara to replace you as the Kazekage."
"So it's that… Well, can we blame them? He's done way more than what I did, in a short amount of time… Thanks to him, our economy is flourishing and people aren't starving anymore."
Sighing, Rasa laughed.
"For god's sake… Even the windmills he's built are giving us electricity and a cool breeze… It's just genius!"
Seeing the man slowly descend into madness, Ebizo sighed once more… It really was an unexpected turn of events… Who would've thought that the weapon of the sand would become it's greatest benefactor, in the span of a few years?
"Well, all we wanted to say was that we'll have to give in sooner or later. I'm expecting that we can only hold them back for a year, but they'll start rioting if we wait any longer… In my opinion, you should start training him to take over the village already,"
Chiyo smiled. She found this way too amusing.
Next to her, Ebizo massaged his forehead. It seemed like the sand was about to enter a new Era… One of prosperity.
"Yeah… I'll see what I can do."
Rasa looked at this village from the window, In his mind, he knew Gaara would be a better leader, but in his heart, he didn't want to step down...
