章 78: You would sit down and listen to me Ajay
At the Municipal Bureau in Old Delhi...
Inspector Rishi Gupta had his eyes fixated on the criminal file he had in his hands. He sat quietly in his office, the previous night, his men had caught some notorious criminals who tried to rob the Delhi Mall.
These criminals had been in the police wanted list, but unluckily for them, their mission to rob the mall failed before it even began. Now they would be charged to court the following week.
They are in prison in the police custody, and if they are found guilty by the court after the hearing, they would be sent jail and punished severely according to the degree of their crime.
Inspector Rishi Gupta had not finished studying the criminal files when his phone rang. He picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID, it was Prakash, the Prakash Mehra was calling .
For a brief second he asked himself if Prakash was in town, then he reasoned it that he can only find out after he talks to him. He then picked the call and said Hello Prakash
Hello inspector, please is it possible to see you at the moment? Prakash asked. Then he continued, am in town and I would like to see you concerning the Yash case.
Yes Prakash, come to my office right away, inspector Rishi Gupta replied. Alright will do, am on my way, Prakash responded then ended the call.
By this time, the cab had dropped Sonal at Mehra TV. He was on his way back to Old Delhi hospital. Prakash had contacted him earlier when he came outside the hospital.
Prakash had his disguise on and was waiting for the cab man to arrive. He sat down on the bench in the hospital's parking lot. After few more minutes of waiting, the cab man arrived. He hoped in at the back and asked him to take him to the Municipal Bureau.
At the Municipal Bureau....
Inspector Rishi Gupta welcomed Prakash when he entered his office. He offered him tea or coffee but Prakash chose to go with water, and a chilled bottle of water was what he got.
He thanked the inspector, then took the chilled bottle of water from him, opened it and drank some. After capping back the bottle, he didn't waste any more time, he then asked the inspector to please brief him about the Yash case.
Yash has been a really naughty boy lately, my men has successfully bugged his phone. We know all who he contacting, where he is going and whom he is been with.
We also have photos, proof of evidence. Here this one are evidences of him dealing with drugs and cocaine with a powerful syndicate. Both Yash an the powerful syndicate were apprehended and arrested.
The syndicates are all in jail now but Yash got bail because of the influence of his father, father Prahtab. His father knows the judge that judged their cases in court and other influential inspectors, Prakash got bail, he escaped Jail. He was only in our custody in prison for a couple of days.
Here in this photo, he is with Paromita, Paromita Ashoka, he was with her the whole of yesterday, at Bhavan hotel which is very unusual, normally he doesn't spend long time with her.
Here is a picture of when he was entering the hotel with her, and also there is CCTV footage of them entering the hotel, of them in the hotel lobby and when they were entering the hotel room, number 325.
And according to my men, it's his permanent room in the hotel. The hotel belongs to his best friend, Karan Bhavan. Although he runs his family business, Bhavan Company, he successfully built an Hotel for himself.
And as for his calls, Madam Shruti Arora had contacted him yesterday to go to Sonal Arora, from their conversations, Sonal was in Old Delhi hospital with her best friend Jasmine Singh who was hospitalized.
Our main target is Yash, we didn't dig further on Sonal and Jasmine and why Jasmine was hospitalized. Please keep The girls out of it, you did right by not investigation them, I mean Sonal and Jasmine, Prakash replied.
Alright Prakash, the inspector continued, so apparently, Yash never went to the hospital and choose to continue with Paromita. At the close of the day, I intended to send one of my men to give it to Desha personally as you wanted. But now you here, you could have them.
Inspector my family doesn't know am in town yet, so please do send one of your men. I intend to surprise them with my presence, but not right now. Alright thanks again inspector, I should be on my way now.
Alright Prakash, the inspector replied and they both shook hands. As they were shaking hands, inspector Rishi's phone rang. The inspector excused himself and picked his call. Prakash then exited his office and out of the Municipal Bureau.
Prakash had booked the cab man the whole day, so naturally the cab man was waiting for him in the parking lot of the Municipal Bureau.
As soon as Prakash entered the cab, he instructed the cab man to take him to Guti Prasad Ramen. On getting there surprisingly he met his buddies, Sagar, Pulkit and Ajay.
Sagar and Pulkit had taken Ajay there, they just didn't expect to see Prakash. Earlier in the hospital the doctor had told them Jasmine will be discharged the following day.
Jasmine was being observed by the doctors today, the doctor even confirmed it that Jasmine is a strong woman, that mostly in cases like this, that the hospital have had, the patients usually take longer to recover.
It was after the good news from the doctor that Sagar suggested to Pulkit to bring Ajay to Guti Ramen Prasad. Ajay was reluctant to go with them, he even suggested they go without him.
Pulkit was able to convince him to go with them but they didn't leave the hospital until Jasmine fell asleep. And Ajay made them promise him that they would be quick to return to the hospital, which they had no problem with as long as he went with them.
Now Prakash has come, Ajay became furious again, he even accused both Sagar and Pulkit of bringing him here on purpose to see Prakash. It took him a while for him to understand that Prakash was here coincidentally.
Pulkit told him it was just coincidentally that Prakash was here, Sagar told him to calm down, then both of them mentioned to him that Guti Prasad Ramen was a special spot for all of them including Prakash.
We invited you to the fold, and it's only normal Prakash comes here, Pulkit added. No we didn't contact Prakash and asked him to come, he came on his own accord, Sagar said.
By this time, Prakash had gotten close to them, as he stepped closer he said, yes Ajay Prakash is right, I was even surprised to see all three of you here. It was very obvious that I was surprised when I came in and saw all of you here.
Prakash if you going to be here, then am out, my sister needs me very much, am going back to the hospital. You don't care about her, so stay here and enjoy your bowl of chicken noodles soup, Ajay responded.
Ajay come on, you misunderstood me at the hospital, you heard wrong, I was saying back then in the hospital lobby, to Sagar and Pulkit that it's not that I am happy Jasmine was hospitalized. I even prayed for her wellbeing.
I was saying that God favoured me with Sonal, that we are getting closer, before he could finish Ajay interrupted him and said, ah! I said it, you just used me and my sister's condition to get closer to her best friend.
You pretended to care about my sister and the mistake I made was encouraging you to take Sonal home yesterday night. You know what? am done listening to you, am out.
As Ajay was trying to go, Prakash held on to him and sat him down forcefully. Then he said to him, this is not the hospital, you would sit down and listen to me Ajay, alright?
Other customers at Guti Prasad Ramen started to stare at them and wondered was was happening, but the guys didn't mind. Ajay laughed sarcastically, and said to him, go ahead mum, let me hear you talk Jibrish.
Sagar wanted to interrupt but Pulkit advised him to let them be that it is their fight, that he should let them resolve it. He also mentioned that Ajay doesn't know Prakash like they do, that Prakash can even give up his life for the people he cares about.
Sagar acknowledged and replied that Pulkit was right about Prakash. Prakash sat down in front of Ajay and looked straight into his eyes. You wrong Ajay, I was not pretending to care about Jasmine, I do care about her.
You didn't see the brighter picture, you only saw what you wanted to see Ajay. Look Ajay, I was just as devastated as you, when I first heard about Jasmine being hospitalized back at the Military base.
And I was also worried for you, aswell as for Sonal. It's only natural I would worry about Sonal because she is Jasmine's best friend and I have feelings for her.
I want Jasmine to be discharged as soon as possible, I want her to get well, I was just saying to the guys back then that I am fortunate to have the chance to be closer to Sonal though I am not happy the turn out of events, I mean the circumstance in which I got the chance to do so.
At this point, Ajay had calmed down but he was still angry with Prakash. He replied Prakash by saying, I clearly heard you say that you are happy that Jasmine is hospitalized.
No Ajay, you heard that but that wasn't my full sentence. My exact words were is not that I am happy that Jasmine is hospitalized, Prakash replied.
Ajay looked at Prakash then he looked at both Sagar and Pulkit who shook their heads to acknowledge that what Prakash was saying was the truth.
At this point he calmed down and finally believed Prakash.Then he replied, buddy look am sorry, I didn't know I misjudged you all along. He then put his hands together to beg for Prakash's forgiveness.
Prakash replied, he said, buddy that is okay, am glad all this is over, can we put this behind us and enjoy our hot bowl of chicken noodle soup. The guys all laughed at this point.
Then Prakash called Mr. Prasad to serve them four bowls of hot chicken noodle soup. Anytime Prakash and his buddies visited Guti Prasad Ramen, Mr. Prasad always serves them personally because they are one of his special customers.
Prakash volunteered to pay the bill. At first Ajay resisted and insisted that he would pay, that Prakash should not worry about it, but Prakash wouldn't take no for an answer. Prakash ended up paying in the end.
