章 42: Their Faces Were Gloomy
It was around 10pm that Sunita and her friends entered their hotel room. When they got back they decided to gist some more before they took their baths and retire to bed.
As they were gisting about their outings, husbands, fiancees ad boyfriends, Sunita's mind drifted away. She started thinking about Rohit and how sweet it would be if he is her husband.
Her friends noticed she was lost in thoughts. They called out her name but she was so far in thought and smiling that she didn't here them call her.
One of them then snapped her fingers in front on Sunita and said, Sunita where is your mind? You are smiling so much and lost in thoughts.
Sunita snapped out of her thoughts almost immediately and said, girls it's nothing really, just would miss you guys when you go back next week, she lied.
She didn't want to say she was thinking about Rohit, a man she likes and who is not even sure if he likes her back. What if all did not go well, her friends would tease her more about it.
Aww Sunita that is so sweet of you one of them responded. Nice but you should spend more time in reality with us now instead of being in a trance, another one said. True Sunita you know we would be going back soon! the last one voiced out.
I will girls, Sunita responded and they continued gisting. They gisted into the night that they did not notice when it became 12 midnight.
The time was around 1pm when they all took their baths one after the other and retired to bed around 2:30am.
The next morning...
Sunita and the girls slept deep into the morning because they slept very late that by the time they woke up it was already 11am.
When they woke up, they stretched on their beds, and greeted each other the way close friends do.
Afterwards they tidied themselves and when it was 1pm, they went downstairs to the restaurant in the ground floor at Bhatt Hotel and Suites to have their lunch.
As they were having their lunch, Rohit and his assistant went entering Bhatt Hotel and Suites. They Just came back from Bhatt Conglomerates.
Their faces were gloomy, earlier in the morning at Bhatt Conglomerates, their presentation was initially going well but all of a sudden, one of the competition pointed out a big flaw that would not be good for Bhatt Conglomerates.
The others including President Bhatt as well as the Vice President, Vijay Bhatt all agreed that if the company were to go with that idea, it would bring a huge loss to the company.
This single flaw, had ruined their hard work from the beginning. The flawed idea was supposed to be an idea that would have sustained their previous ideas.
According to President Bhatt, the project the competitors were vying for needed a succession of great ideas to keep it running for a long term.
Rohit and his assistant were not one to prepare for a plan B. It was a disgraceful sight in the boardroom.
They apologized, and their presentations had to come to an abrupt end for that day. The other competitors were not doing badly either, their presentations today was not flawed either.
The meeting at the board room came to an end. And all went away to go about their daily business for the day.
Rohit and his assistant were disappointed in themselves. Rohit then suggested that they should rest for the rest of the day and continue the next day.
The next day was a saturday, presentations was from Mondays to Fridays. His assistant agreed with him that it is best to cool off for now and continue to brain storm the next day.
They needed to get back on track and find a better idea as a succession idea. They have been there for a week now, they only have one week left to win the contract.
Now inside Bhatt Hotel and Suites, Rohit and his assistant with gloomy faces went to the restaurant area to have their lunch.
They usually don't have breakfast in the morning, though their presentations did not go well today, they were hungry and needed to eat something.
They sat down at their table, called the waiter and ordered their meal. As they were eating, Rohit's assistant cutlery fell down.
He bent down to pick it up, as soon as he raised his head after picking it up, he saw Sunita and her friends eating at a distance. They did not see him nor Rohit.
His gloomy face brightened a little, he called Rohit. Rohit looked at him and replied, what is it? and why is your face so bright all of a sudden.
He responded by telling Rohit to look over there and demonstrated with his chin pointing at the direction of Sunita and her friends.
As soon as he turned his face, his eyes met Sunita's eyes. Sunita was just looking around casually when her eyes met with that of Rohit's.
She blushed and quickly averted her eyes away. Rohit was in shock. He blinked twice, and inwardly said to himself, did Sunita just blush because she saw me? Does she like me?
Then he shook his head still saying inwardly to himself, no, maybe she remembered something that made her blush and it was just a coincidence she saw him at that moment.
Rohit's assistant didn't see her blush but he reminded Rohit that Rohit should go for her, she is gorgeous and beautiful that it will help their case to win the contract.
Rohit didn't accept nor reject his idea this time, he only said I will think about it, we should continue eating.
Sunita's friends were all focusing on their food and didn't notice when she blushed. When they all finished their meal. They called the waiter for the bills and one of them paid.
After the bills were settled, they got up and decided to go upstairs to their rooms to rest before going out briefly for the day.
As they were moving, a waiter for another table was coming while holding a tray of food that the table had ordered for.
A little child was running carelessly around to meet with his parents at their table after coming from the convenience.
The waiter did not see the little boy running and the little boy did not take note of who and what was in his path as he ran.
The little boy crashed into the waiter, and the food the waiter was holding fell. Sunita's friends were ahead of her, she was the one close to the waiter.
The tray of food was about to land directly on her face and ruin her hair and pretty clothes. She held up her hands to protect her face. She didn't have enough time to move quickly away from the food coming down on her.
After a few minutes, she noticed that no food came down on her. She placed her hands down and when she looked up, her eyes met with Rohit's at a close range.
Her Prince charming had saved her, he was her hero right now. Rohit quickly asked her while holding her waist. Are you alright Sunita?
She responded and said, thanks to you am fine. Her friends who were ahead rushed back. When they got close to Rohit and Sunita, Rohit let go of Sunita and said, now I know you are fine, I will go back now to finish my meal.
As he left, Sunita's eyes followed him back to his seat. Her friends noticed her actions and one of them coughed lightly. Another one asked Sunita are you fine? She replied and said am fine girls, and thanks to that gentle man.
Thank goodness, ok we should go back now before something else happens. The waiter suddenly spoke up, am sorry miss, Sunita accepted his apology.
The parents of the little boy came there, apologized on behalf of their son. That is alright, am fine Sunita responded. The manager came down to the scene after hearing of the commotion and instructed the cleaners to take care of the mess.
Luckily the meal the waiter spilled was supposed to be for the table of the couple whose son crashed into the waiter. They offered to pay for the spilled meal and ordered another one that they will also pay for.
Sunita and her friends got into the elevator. When the elevator door closed, Sunita pressed the button to their floor. As the elevator was going up one of Sunita's friends asked her if she liked the gentleman who saved her back at the restaurant.
Before she could answer, another one said, he is good looking, and judging by the way he looked at you, I think that guy has feelings for you but we can't be certain.
The last one then said if you like him Sunita, I think you should go for him and accept him if he approaches you and maybe declare his feelings for you.
Sunita blushed and admitted to them that she does like him and thanked them for their support.
The door to the elevator opened and they stepped out. As they were about to enter their room, Sunita urged her friends that they should go in first that she would join them later.
They did not suspect anything. They all wanted to rest so did not think too much about why Sunita doesn't want to come into the room now.
Sunita wanted to thank Rohit personally and know his room number. She also wanted to let Rohit know the suite her and her friends were staying in.
Sunita strolled in the lobby and played with her phone for a while. After about 15 minutes of her doing that. The elevator opened and Rohit stepped out.
It just so happens that Sunita was close to the elevator. When Rohit Stepped out of the elevator. She took the initiative to speak to Rohit first.
She said I just want to thank you for earlier. Ah it's nothing Rohit Replied. They moved together and before they got to Rohit's room, Sunita asked. How did you know about the scenario downstairs? Your table was far away, so you were pretty fast.
Rohit responded by explaining to her that when he saw the little boy running, he figured the boy was going to run into the waiter so he had to do something to prevent her from being soiled by the food from the tray of the waiter.
Soon they got to Rohit's room and stopped. Is this your room asked Sunita. Yes it is, Rohit replied and what Room are you and your friends staying in, Sunita replied and told him her room number, the one her and her friends share together.
Rohit opened his door to get inside and Sunita bade Rohit goodbye and went to her room. Rohit entered his room and started thinking of Sunita lovingly almost immediately.
It has been a very long time he spoke to his fiancée Jasmine. He did not worry. He laid on his bed and slept. That afternoon he dreamt he married Sunita and they were on their honeymoon.
